But it goes to show how umpires are always influenced by the players who protest first/most vigorously. He didn't say "fault" until Shin - who simply had stopped playing - started complaining.
How many players need to get ROBBED before BWF finally wakes up... There are cameras recording every inch of the court in slow motion. There’s no reason the umpire shouldn’t be able to review the video like virtually EVERY OTHER PRO SPORT in the modern era.
I agree with you My Friend 1000000000 % Its really a shame and feels sad as a Badminton fan because its not good for the sport we so dearly love
Never seen a JPN WD with such poor defence. What does it take to do a smash defence lift that goes past mid court?
Well, one is certainly that they don't get to go to more than one or two top tier tournaments per year to get experience against top pairs. The other is that they haven't fixed Matsuyama's backhand in years. Just smash there once or twice and the point is yours. Another is also the complete ineptitude of the Japanese camp (and that includes coaches) to capitalize on Shin's glaring lack of fitness. She was on the ropes at the end of game one already and ripe for the taking at the start of game 2. What do kind Shida and Matsuyama do? Try to win rallies as fast as possible, commiting unforced error after unforced error. The exact opposite of what needed to be done.
I don’t know who the left coach was, but I expected better from Kai Nakajima... JPN should have gone full defensive in g3...make every rally 50+ shots. But I guess...they just can’t do it as well as Takamatsu or Fukurota. Their court coverage and smash defence was sorely lacking...
