Lol She basically gives her auto win to the final, probably against CM again. That’ll be fun to watch.

All the Indian players knocked out. Sindhu recently became the WC but after her Korean coach leaving, she never reached a final after the WC.
The two Danes having a face off tomorrow, that must be upsetting so early in the tournament for the Danish fans.

out of 8 ms players - 3 are Danes, that is some dominance by one nation :)

i couldnt watch the match. Its not suppose to look hard like this but the positive thing is marin only need 1 game point (match point) to win. Set with the most points played ever for marin

    Country representatives in QF

    8 - JPN, CHN
    6 - KOR
    5 - INA
    4 - TPE
    3 - DEN
    2 - THA
1 - ESP, USA, MAS, HKG

    Seeded players left in QF

    MS - 5
    WS - 3
    MD - 7
    WD - 5
    XD - 6

It's unusual for WS to have few seeded players left in QF. Moreover, all seeded MD pairs, minus Astrup/Rasmussen, progress to QF.

Given that two Danes already lost first round, that all three quarter finalists combined have played a single seeded player (JC), and only one of them is going to the semis, "dominance" really isn't the word that comes to mind. :)

FajarRian vs KamuraSonoda for 3 tournaments in a row. Hope for great spectacle.

3pm start local time, thought 1/2pm will have been better. Court 1 can end midnight there

4 Korean WD is more dominating and since none of them facing each other, theoretically there could be all 4 in SF. It is quite interesting that there have been some dominance of some countries in Doubles discipline. Has it always been like that? I could only remember WS dominance by China.

Lol, JPN WD has been dominating since last year. Though, I admit that JPN WD's domination has been toned down, the presence is still there. I mean, 3 of the top 4 in WD category are from JPN. Before 2016, CHN WD was totally dominating the category.

I think you got my point wrong. My question was actually why is it only in Doubles discipline there have been a dominance by some countries and not in Singles discipline. Is it just this era or has it always been like that? I will stop here since it can be categorized as off-topic.

If I remember rightly. ( someone please check ), INA MS was dominating in the 1990-2000 era.. I think INA had like 4-5 top players? Those were the years of Heriyanto Arbi, Arbi Wiranata, Joko Suprianto, Alan, Upcoming Taufik?

I think this is the case of miscommunication and misinterpretation. As far as double disciplines are concerned, I think this is the first time.

Actually, the INA doubles were even stronger.
