I am curious for feedback from other users on the Yonex Precision 5 stringing machine. We [a retailer] sold a brand new Precision 5 machine to a Customer in Europe several months ago. The Customer says he is a high volume user [stringing 50+ racquets a week]. He has used other machines and never had this issue. He is reporting the machine making marks on the racquet from all four Frame Supports. This is for multiple racquets. Additional information: - He has tried the spare Frame Supports provided with the machine to no success - We and Yonex have already recommended loosening the Frame Supports, so they are not so tight. Customer reports the issue continuing. Does anyone else have this machine and have a similar issue? Does anyone have any feedback or comments as to what could be the reason to cause this?
I’ve seen before here that some ES5 users puts some supergrap on the badminton side-supports for some extra cushion to the frame. The reason for this is probably also related to your question.
As @Super85 already wrote, they should use a Overgrip. The side supports are more round than flat, so the contact area is smaller than on other machines. But the real problem are the rackets itself. The most of the modern rackets have "soft" decals under the clear coat. And sometimes they slipping or sink a little bit and the clear coat breaks. To prevent this, cut some overgrips (i use the Yonex AC102) lengthwise in half and ~8 cm (maybe a little bit shorter) long, apply double sided tape on it, and put it on the side supports. Her is a (old) picture: https://stringing.info/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/yonex-es5protech-turntable-1.jpg This strips on the picture are very short. Meanwhile they are longer and now they are holds a lot better. With 50 rackets per week they must renew every week or month the strips.
