Don't know the full story but Boe sounds quite insensitive saying that though.

Danes can be very straight to the point when they say things like that. It's their culture.

Nozomi races off to an 11-0 lead in G2 against Cheung Ngan Yi! What a feat, Nozomi on her day has become a formidable opponent for anyone.

Sorry, I just checked the score, and now I realized CNY has retired, hope she's not seriously injured or something.

For the second week in a row, Cai Yanyan beat Saina Nehwal but this time the score is closer.

Both things were said. What Boe said was part of a longer serious interview and not just a one liner "shot fired". I think he said something along the lines that he felt that Mogensen never fully recovered in the sense that something had changed, and that was natural. Not blaming Mogensen for anything; more like it was just a fact, and it was natural. I am not even sure if it was meant as a reason for their increasingly poor performance.

It is, however, a fact that their peformance had decreased significantly on court and they had started to drop out in the 1st or 2nd round every tournament. So there was a good argument for splitting them up even if those things had not been said.

He was paired with Mads Kolding the same time the Boe/Conrad combination was formed. Due to lack of ranking points and i think Kolding being injured they have only managed to play 1 tournament, the SaarLorLux open, where they lost to a below par french pair. They are playing the Irish open this week, followed by Korea masters and syed modi.

As for mogensen he changed quite drastically after recovering. He got flashy tattoos, started buying really expensive clothes/watches, got a fade haircut and seperated from his girlfriend. Quite a revamp from his old self. It might have nothing to do with his past condition but it makes you wonder.

They had withdrawn from Korean Masters too. Don't seem they care about the rest of tournaments since they have secured a spot in WTF.

Oh and Ou/Zhang through to R2.

I have read about it somewhere that some Japanese player/pairs had withdrawn from a tournament, Kam/Son was one of them. If it wasn't Korean Masters then it was Syed Modi?
    Or I was just misinformed.

He was paired with Kolding. They were all four back to training, but Kolding's injury held them back significantly. They are now back to playing tournaments. That is they played SaarLorLux Open 2019 Super 100, where they did not impress anyone, and are playing Irish Open this week, and Korea Masters and Syed Modi the next couple of weeks.

I mentioned it in a post on the Badminton in Japan thread this morning. Nagahara/Matsumoto, Fukushima/Hirota, and Kamura/Sonoda have been deleted from the Nippon Badminton Association's list of players due to take part in the Gwangju Korea Masters.

As for the Syed Modi, ... no Japanese players will have entered because the schedule clashes with the All Japan Championships.

Played with boe for more than 10 years?.
Is it that simple to get separated?
I mean, atleast one person may come down to ask sorry and continue as before. That won't hurt right.

I just saw Irish open but did not see MD lineup. Hope they perform well there.
Wanna see his new avatar, if Irish open has live streaming.

I dont know if the decision to split the pairs was driven by the players or the coaches. Both Boe/Mogensen and Conrad/Kolding had a sustained decline in form prior to the split so perhaps that was the main reason.
They did play for over 10 years but i dont think their personalities were that compatible. They almost never shared a room and didnt spend much time together off-court as far as i know.

A few years back i remember listening to one of the danish commentators (Steen or Morten) talking about when he asked the Korean mens doubles coach why they wouldnt pair Lee Yong Dae and Shin Baek Cheol. The coach said it was because their personalities were incompatible. The commentator then joked that if denmark would consider personalities they would have no mens doubles pairs at all. So yeah, strong personalities in the squad.
