One game all. Li/Liu was too good in G2.
Not looking good for minions at the moment.

Yesh! minions took the match 21-18, 14-21, 21-18
Phew.. thought it was a goner when Li/Liu played so brilliantly in G2.

Too many mistakes from both pairs today. But gotta say Liu did his part so well.
    Minions better step up tomorrow.

Dont like this scenarion for Minions.. its a bit like last year. LiLiu can win 2-0 and Minions lose 0-2 for tomorrow

Minions managed to find the solution for Li/Liu tactic, but Li/Liu did make quite a few mistakes at the end. I think it's gonna be hard if they make this many mistake again against Endo/Watanabe.

Congrats minions. Unconvincing though to be honest. I think the Chinese had the perfect plan, just didn’t execute quite as well in the final game.

They definitely demonstrated they can match Gideon/Sukamuljo in the flat game. Identified Gideon’s weak attacking shots when not given time and both will move forward to pressure the weak shot.

If they meet again in the knockout stages we’ll see whether Gideon/Sukamuljo can devise any countermeasures. They clutched this one out.

Respectfully disagree, they didn’t find solutions (yet). They clutched this one out

Indeed. Kind of reminded me of G1 in their last encounter in JO.

But anyway it's only the first match, we'll see if they'd have better form tomorrow. Minions usually have rough first two matches of a tournament. And actually, it makes me feel better if they started rough. (Normally) they will get better along the time. We'll see how they do tomorrow and the day after tomorrow.

There is no tactic, LiLiu simply go all out playing the percentages. The score looks nearer than it is should finish 21-15

LJH left stranded numerous occasions. If he is at his best, Liu should have block more , forcing Minions to lift before Li unveil the smash. but Feels like he is past his best in terms of smashing power Li? What is he doing at 15-17

This game... sometimes it feels like a TTY masterclass in technique and disguise, and other times she's giving away the freest points imaginable...

Other than the slow start and random errors, that seemed like one of the strongest TTY games this year

I think minions actually played decently, not exceptionally like in JO, but still a standard typical of them. It’s just that the Chinese have figured out their patterns of play so well it seems like every of their shots are being anticipated. I suspect it’ll be equally as difficult to play Li Liu if they meet again since such patterns of play are ingrained and not easy to change.

We’ll see though definitely a relief to see them avenge their loss last year

Is it just me, Okuhara's face expression reminds me of BWC final against Sindhu.
