For info, GohTan or AaronSoh will have over a day rest when they meet Minions in R2. They will play today while Minions not playing.

Minions beat their first opponents today in straight games 21-17, 21-8.
Had trouble adjusting to the hall perhaps in G1? But they were cruising in G2.
Kevin's being too casual in G2 but with good placements shot except for one lol.
Is it just me or did Marcus just get wider...?

Minions are cautious against Malaysia pair

Kevin : They have a good no lob game. Especially in their home soil might motivate them more to defeat me. Now we are focusing more at our own preparation.

Today we have gotten our focus since the beginning of the match, so we didn't give any opportunities to the opponents who actually had good and steep attacks.

Marcus : We were more prepared today, they opponents couldn't get out of the pressure and not able to get their game going. Probably this Taiwan pair is a new less experienced pair compared to the other TPE pairs who have competing experiences, that's why they still made many unforced errors.

(Malaysia Masters 2020) Kevin/Marcus Waspadai Ganda Putra Malaysia

    (Kuala Lumpur, 8/1/2020)

"Mereka punya permainan no lob yang bagus.

Is yuta injured or something ? I just realised he's withdrawn from MM. I want to see minions play yuta/endo as much as possible before the olympics, so hopefully he'll play in IM next week.

Minions won the match in straight games 21-15, 21-11.
I was expecting a closer match but minions had little trouble defeating Chia/Soh today. Looked solid and made less mistakes (than usual).

The match is the last one on court 2.. guess it's better than getting dumped to court 3 without any streaming for same country match :)

Oh yeah I forgot, they have streaming for all courts. :D

Watched their match today. Not much difference in their play to me. Only thing I observed was that Kevin is trying to be more creative with defence (he is starting to play those cross blocks more LYD-esque). And yeah of course the faster conditions means business back to normal

One thing I think they still can improve is their rotation, because they really don’t want Kevin to be stuck behind against good pairs. I’ve noticed this a lot, they get an small opportunity to rotate Marcus to the back but are too hesitant in their movement. Could learn a lot from ZSW/HYQ on this front, their rotation is incredible, one second HYQ is at the back the next moment ZSW is at the back raining smashes at opponents

Want to see Kevin/Ahsan in international tour events for at least 1 year from Tokyo OG till 2021 Worlds. Don't think Ahsan would be in perfect shape till 2024 as he'll be 37. If only Ahsan were 10 years younger, we could have seen a deadly pair.

Hehe I know. I meant to say Ahsan/Kevin partnership would have lasted more years had they been partnered earlier (provided they bring consistent results)

Ahsan/Setiawan will retired as a pair together to be remembered as a legendary pair, winning countless titles. ( Before and after split up). Furthermore they're independent pair now, for sure they will retired together. As for Kevin, there are many promising young talents in Indonesia. Surely PBSI will get one for Kevin when Gideon reach retirement.

2 talented individuals .., but if they play together Dont mean they will make a good pair. I think individually Ahsan is better than Gideon but are they able to win that many titles together if AhsanKevin play together? I dont think be more than 10 or maybe not more than 5, Most pairs dont even have 5 SS or total 10 big titles, if you check at it. Talented they are , but different character. Ahsan is more at joy with Hendra calming influence.

In the world top 4 now, there are a pair with 2 strong individuals, but how many Titles or Superseries have they won?

All MD match is so good. I watched all the match except the Taiwanese vs Korean match yesterday. Even OngTeo and LeeKim match i watch at the same time. just a R2 matches but its exciting. cant say the same with other sectors.
