    QUARTERFINAL (01.00pm) => https://www.tournamentsoftware.com/...E5610C-87CD-4B0B-991A-44DBFC1F59E2&d=20200124

    Both the Olympic Champion Carolina Marin and home favourite Ratchanok Intanon march on into quarters without much problem and will up against stern test Japanese players next, Sayaka Takahashi and Aya Ohori respectively. Meanwhile Akane Yamaguchi finds Indonesian challenger Gregoria Mariska once again after Yamaguchi defeated her narrowly in thrilling encounter last week in Jakarta. End of campaign for China back-ups, none of them could break last eight round, Korean prodigy An Se Young is expected to book semis spot against Qi Xuefei, Chinese- born French player.

    Host Thailand has assured one last four berth in men's singles, three-time World Junior Champion Kunlavut Vitidsarn meets his senior this evening. Kenta Nishimoto will be tested by China underdog Zhao Junpeng, the lefthander shows slight progress lately. Barring any big upsets, the bottom-half draw semifinal will pit Ng Ka Long against Shi Yuqi tomorrow, the latter still indicating vulnerability, lack of accuracy, weak defense and mediocre netplay, he's leading all the way in second game, 17-8 then losing some points easily to commit elementary mistakes that forcing Liew Daren closed the gap until Shi sealed the tie, 21-18.

    Men's doubles top-seed Lee Y/Wang CL retired at the beginning of last sixteen match yesterday, Lee Yang suffered injury as he pointed out his knee to the umpire that hampering his movement. Some unpredictable plots are rolling as only two seededs left in quarters, Hoki/Kobayashi and Goh VS/Tan WK. Women's doubles competition contains China versus Korea clash, world number one Chen/Jia finally took revenge over Matsuyama/Shida yesterday in convincing style, 21-13 / 21-13. China rules mixed doubles category in BWF top tier tours but there's wide gap between Zheng/Huang,Wang/Huang and second layered pairs including He JT/Du Y who're touted as their third ranked combination but fail to impress in last three tournaments, hard to focus in two disciplines at very highly competitive tournament nowadays.

    Hoki/Kobayashi haven't managed to get their act together since last year's World Championships.

    Kunlavut takes the first game from his senior with the score of 21-10. Suppanyu isn't playing the kind of badminton that landed him a spot in the QF though I think, making lots of unforced errors, like serving long and missing kills.

    Suppanyu is playing better now, and in turn forcing Kunlavut to play more aggresively, some much better looking rallies in this second game this far.

    A bit shakier last game from Kunlavut. But he managed to close it out in two still.

    Ng Ka Long has been playing more fun lately I think. Maybe because of the Du Pengyu coaching?

    He has quite powerful smash too.

    But how come they are still with JPN National Team? Both of them are 25/26 years old already and haven't achieve anything so far.

    Nishimoto should know that the opponent will takes points and it will be a part of the game. Don't be sad when the opponent takes points, it will cause a negative in your mind.

    Nishimoto was eager to win so that he didn't keep a cool head in deciding situations. His movements and his hand were too "straight", not much stricky.

    For example: As he jump to smash, it would be a smash but not a cross court drop shot.

    Luckily, this time ZJ Peng made some mistakes in deciding situations
