Hmm, The Hindu reporters are not that pro active towards badminton like The Scroll and other media houses. Maybe you're right. Still, the change in answers is quite a surprise that too in a span of 2-3 days.

Inspite of her mega celebrity status PVS is still a badminton player and their work profile doesn't really have answering interviews, and making politically correct answers as one of the main role.

She's doing well, given the exposure to them (interviews) recently is huge. But since she isn't "trained" for them it's pretty obvious that we'll see inconsistent answers, everything depends on how the reporter frames the questions n grills to get to the real truth.
In my opinion her public presence and way to carry herself is still outstanding (by a sportsperson's standard) almost on par with Sania Mirza.

Not to mention Times of India. I told you about some personal experience with Times.
One time i even saw an article about badminton where it mentioned about Sameer verma's some victory in some international tournament with a picture of Sourabh Verma under its title.

Still her mega status is minute in the comparison to that of mighty VK and MSD etc, At least the from the likes and followers comparison on Instagram. I hope India will be as obsessed as Indonesia for badminton.

Nah nothing has (yet) come even close to cricket here.
Yes Saina and PV are household names and the old beliefs and perceptions of badminton being a "feminine" sport and something you play for pleasure after dinner is/has been radically changing, it's still a long way.

I may go to the SF on Saturday as I am currently in KL. But I don't know whether any Indian players will go that far. My only hope is Sindhu. I have already seen Ashan/Setiawan and LYD (my most favourite players) matches on the opening day. I would be really happy if Sindhu qualifies for the SF.

TTY too strong for Sindhu. Sindhu played with vigour in first game till 15-16. Then TTY pulled 3 points back to back and took the first game. Tai was all over in second.

Sindhu needs extra dose of motivation to beat TTY and PMM won't provide enough of it.

Sindhu wins her third straight ESPN female sport person of the year. Congratulations. And her world championship win also being selected as the moment of the year. Hope she does well in Olympics.

This picture is old, she was using that racket and wearing that shirt may be during Feb/March 2019. That picture is from a different hall.

Yes. The picture has no reference to a new hall. I was referring to the new academy being in a private school.
