How do you measure swing weight? and head weight for that matter? I'd test my rackets but I've no idea how. Do you need special equipment?
Does higher swing weight equal to higher power the racket can generate? For instance TC70C it shows swing weight 88.5 but the balance point of this racket is 290mm which doesnt sound super head weight. Compared to AN7000B which balance point is higher 295mm and swing weight 87.5. Does it mean the TC70C can hammer harder due to higher swing weight but less head heavy?
Yeah, you need a special machine, eg. Racquet Force store has one and often measures and posts their results of various new rackets on their FB page. That's why I quoted them. Now because I'm your bro so I went all the way back to 2018 on their insta posts hahahaha. What I came up with are the following, Fortius 10Q (best match IMO), TK FC White has a pretty close result, 7000I because token 5U, I'm evil and I actually have one, TK BXR (very good spec match too), and lastly TK Yin. Short of the 88D which I know is your dalliance right now, those were the best matches I could find and think of with a bit of deviation from the head weight. Otherwise I'd perhaps suggest looking at the Calibar 900 although RF measured their sample at 88.5g swing weight. Despite that I feel that the frame aerodynamics can actually make up for it. While a few would agree. Most customers in reality don't care. Plus the companies won't do it because one machine costs too much. Add in the amount if rackets churned out per day, you'd probably have to spend maybe 6 figures just to integrate it into the production and QC processes just for a handful of consumers. there's many racket 4U with 87 kgf based on RF, but mostly in stiff shaft categories. ax88d, BXR, 10q, tkFC, etc. maybe ax77 4u, but RF didn't post the test result yet.
Actually there aren't that many. Additionally I already had foreknowledge of his preferences hence why the 77 is not in the list. Visor already uses an 88D, I don't think he's looking to trade downwards a level of stiffness. Sent from my SM-G975F using Tapatalk
Yep, I already had sold my 4U AX77 which I found too head light and flexy for me. But the current 4U AX88D I'm using is an unusually head heavy one with a dry head weight of 38.3g. That's like my old 4U VT80! I picked up 2 more 4U 88D recently but with dry head weight of 37.5-37.8g and I could feel the lack of ooomph. Why I chose 87 kgf swing weight is because I loved a friend's 3U Arc 10 (which is ever popular amongst pro singles and doubles players and which RF measured at 87) and I wanted that swing weight in a 4U because powerful 4U rackets is where the current paradigm and technology is. I wonder why white TK-FC differs so much from the blue one on racquetforce measurements? Shouldn't they be the same except from paint? Blue TK-FC 85.7g / swing weight 84.5 kg White TK-FC 85.4g / swing weight 86.5 kg (same as TK-F) How about stiffness in TK-FC - similar to 88D?
The Adidas Wucht P7 might fit that bill, not sure I'd they tested it. They did test the P8 3U and it had a swing weight of 90 Since the difference between the 3U and 4U version is rather small, I guess the 4U would still be more around 88 or above and more than moderately stiff, the P7 is more flexible and less head heavy might be just that... maybe the 3U version might be better, but again, the difference between 3U and 4U is only 2g on average for the P7.
