So as I was deciding on what size to get from Amazon Japan last week when I was buying a Yonex Power Cushion 65Z2, I stumbled upon this thread. And since my old shoes were a US 9 (27cm) Yonex SBH-02, I opted for the same 27cm for the 65Z2. When I got them when I was still in Japan, they seem to fit just fine and when I eyeballed the allowance between the top of my big toe and the top of their insoles, I get around 0.6 in. of allowance, which in the above the thread says it is the perfect fit. See pictures: https://www.dropbox.com/s/a90wb1lfokoa651/20200301_003106.jpg?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/dqk74v5klu7ofil/20200301_003118.jpg?dl=0 Today, I had a chance to play with them in the court and what I noticed is that the top of the shoes "seem" to hit my toes when I do lunges. In the above thread, it is also recommended to arch my feet while tying the shoelaces so as to give enough room for the expansion of the feet while playing. Could this be because I have them tied too tight? And also the shoes need to be somewhat "burnt in" so that they can perfectly conform to my feet?
I thought that allowance is enough? Eith a thicker socks, that will be lessened? Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
A few solutions: Add a generic insole to make shoe more snug Tie shoe laces tighter Get a smaller size shoe Its normal for your toe to touch the tip of the shoe, but it shouldn't be sliding. A little movement is ok.
I was actually thinking that I should get a slightly larger shoe (9.5) instead of the 9 that I have because the shoe feels tight for me. But I'm confused because I do have that toe allowance. Could it be I need a wider shoe instead? For shoe laces tightening, what I do is bend my feet upward before tightening. I read that this is a good practice since the shoes will expand as you use them anyway? I do plan on getting a better insole. Any recommendations? Spenco Total Max vs. Powersteps Pinnacle Maxx?
