our local badminton online shop is posting 38 and 68 new color. I tried to find it in sunriseclick but can't find it.
correction: only 68D that is posted. you can search on Facebook "shuttler shop". not sure if I can post a link here. Can't judge if it's genuine or fake.
Already try new 88D 4U5 Compare to old 4U5 with same string and same tension My old one 85.2 gram.. New 85.6 gram New one feel a bit stiffer, output power is almost same. Control and accuracy same too. For strong wrist player maybe the new one is better. But old one is also superior. For me i like new colour, feel more sporty and exclusive. If you have the old one.. Maybe not really need to upgrade to new,is not better than old. Just same racket with very minor change
Michael, what grip are u using? My old 88D 4U is 89.5-90 grams with zymax strings+cushion wrap+yonex overgrip
My both 88D 4U5 final 93.5-94 gram 66um with original grip+plastic+ thin over grip Ac102, Head weight is 41,5-42 gram Bp is 298mm both same new and old colour.
edit: i'm curious whether the 88d new version and older versions are significantly different, i hear new is lighter than old in swing weight? Is this true or variance from raquetforce
cant be sure as RF never mention how many sample they test. If its just 1, then it might be production tolerance. Aside from that, based on RF test only regardless the sample qty, new 3U is lighter while new 4U is heavier. & based on some comment of 88 owner, they said 3U is kinda to heavy yet 4U sometimes dont have enough punching power, so we can also assume that Yonex actually did some change making 3U abit lighter yet makes 4U abit heavier. So anything is possible.
From a retailer in VN, swing weight of old and new 88D 4U is 85.5 and 86.5 respectively. RF gives 86 and 87 in the same order. I guess it is due to production tolerance then.
Mine is 92g with original grip and the plastic + ac102ex. I'm considering to take off the original grip and put some cushion wrap, it will be lighter. My friend's 4u 88s feels heavier, i think there are some ranges
