Yeah, it didn't start at the right mains... on some racket its easy to see because they put a dot on the inside of the racket. On some racket like old yonex racket on the outside frame you see kind of "weld" in the center of the racket ( a line like)

Either way, you can count numbers of grommet from left and right from the first cross. Even in tennis sometimes hard for me to find the center, I have to count left right to find the center.

Even still, they would have to notice when they got to the corners of the frames and saw that they're using the wrong grommets. Presumably this isn't the first time they've strung a racquet that doesn't have shared holes at the top.

I personally don’t string at all but I’m very interested in it.
I binge read this thread from the top and I was not let down.
Is there any dedicated thread to identify bad string jobs for players who might want to check? (bad crossovers, knots, seeing the stringing process in person,...)

Maybe we can reactivate the „rate my stringjob“ thread for that? Must be buried somewhere.

When in doubt, simply start your own thread - I could see this becoming an interesting topic.

I’m torn apart between feeling disgusted and being amazed at the same time. That is unbelievable.

I guess the string piece was too short or has been cut during stringing ... and the stringer decided to finish the job by adding a piece and doing a knot to do so. If you live on a desert island with no other string to restart, or no time to find another string before going to play and have no other racquet, that could be a strange but good solution, maybe ...:D

The best (or worst) I have seen so far in this thread. I would rate the string job a 1% and the knot a 99% score. I wonder if the knot holds well on BG65Ti @28.

Received a nanoray 900 to string for a player before a tournament. She'd apparently asked for 26lbs from the previous stringer but tension felt like 21lbs. Not only that but the previous stringer seemed to have run out of grommets so proceeded to grind/enlarge the grommet-hole to the point where a piece of plastic he/she had at hand could fit. You can see how the inside of the grommet-hole is not the same colour as the frame and in the end I had to use a 2.7mm grommet to fill the hole. Having noticed that enlarging the hole was a bad idea they just went along with missing grommets out entirely.[IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]
