yes, 88s pro come with 68 hole. damn my eyes mistake.. and the top string patern also doesn't look like usual 72 hole with 5 hole sharing at the top. longer grip and stiffer shaft. and 88d pro, probably will be like vtzf ld force, with enhance material. let's see how it's work with kevin markus..
early reviews all say the pro versions feel significantly different from the originals counterparts, which begs the question, was it really a good idea to discontinue the original 88d/s this abruptly? I'm certain the most popular racket in the world for the past 2 years have been the AX 88, and now you have a bunch of players who aren't going to be able to buy replacements, because these pro versions are different rackets altogether
Honestly looking at everything we know about these 2 so far... I wonder why they didn't just release them as an Astrox 111S/D instead. Compared to their predecessors (in stupid name only) they are basically radically completely new designs. Different string patterns for the S, the usage of shared grommets in varying amounts in the middle for both designs, new material in the frame, new cones, new GRIP lengths on both, different frame shape as opposed to material placed in those locations on the old 88S/D, etc. etc. You guys get where I'm going with this.. Everything I'm reading just screams new racket, not some minor improvement or technical change to warrant a rebadge..
Part of the strategy i think. 88D/S are quite hyped that almost someone on any court i play hav it (regardless 38/68/88, the color are the same), so claim a redefined/better version of old 88D would milk more buyer. Tho, as Volant review its not worth to change racket, not coz its the same or worst but coz racket wont makes you any better (& i agree with that). But the truth that its totally different would gain even more attention & many would want to buy it (psicological aspect).
Strange that sunriseclick over in Singapore and local shops dont seem to have the Astrox 88D tour n game models in stock. Would love to get my hands on one.
Oh no I get those points. I just didn't bother bringing them up because I felt it was obvious that they were milking it for all it was worth. It just irks me on a personal level that they feel the need to od this. Sent from my SM-G975F using Tapatalk
I wonder what would Yonex do? Minions in action with new sword & if they manage to win, it will become additional boost to all fanboy/girl to buy it. They all will become crazy to get the new racket. But now..... Yonex lose this event for explosive entry for their new racket. But Indo team are losing much more than Yonex i think as (if im correct) the World Ranking are running again on this event.
This would have bought a massive hype for these racquets, imagine everybody going wild as kevin sanjaya sukamuljo using an AX111S. Or maybe Yonex are saving the 111 moniker for something even bigger
Unlikely. They usually stop stuff after using a 9 starter digit because they release the Z versions after that. Which usually also means that we should be seeing a new power series of rackets from YY in the near-ish future. Sent from my SM-G975F using Tapatalk
the japanese wd pair of fuku/hiro, playing w old 88s and 88d. i remember they was advertised to use the pro versions. just an observation
Then by that logic there will be atleast more than 2 iterations in the Astrox family before (ZF2 & LD-F, KSS MFG vers,) its successor takes over
