Agree to both of you. Also BAI's incompetency was evident many times. It seems curtains for KS, I am happy and sad for him, he deserved this, but this can be a pivot point for him to retrospect his game probably decide if he will be better at doubles? or should he retire for good.
Why the India Open got postponed when IPL is being held? https://thebridge.in/badminton/badminton-india-open-got-postponed-ipl-held-21026?infinitescroll=1 https://thebridge.in/badminton/badminton-india-open-got-postponed-ipl-held-21026?infinitescroll=1 I think the reason is IPL gets a lot of funding esp from these gambing apps like dream11 etc, and cricketers even advertise for them. They just don't care that a country with 30% population under 30 and 90% of them loosing money on them.
Err, actually, the question should be why is IPL still being held when India has broken the records for new cases and hospitals are out of oxygen? There’s a national crisis going on!!
The scale of IPL is hugeee (In trump's tone). Players want to play because: most of the players will get money of around 5 Crore INR (USD 670000) some players get 3x of that. on top of that they can get prize money of USD 6*1500 based on performance, ,on top of that there is advertisement money. People will watch the matches in huge numbers: 6-7 million people I can see in hotstar online viewers, a lot more people watch on TV (60-70) million. the second popular sport badminton gets around 5-10k attention. Broadcasters will get a lot of money: there is a lot of advertisement money, usually two kinds of advertisements -Useful promising startups like Unacadamy, CRED etc. -Gambling startups like Dream11, My11circle etc. People watch matches cause: - there are a lot of diehard fans for the city teams. - A lot of young people gamble and bet on these apps, this is what I dislike because a lot of young people are losing money, some committed suicide, robbers usually increase at this time of the year. BCCI (Indian board) literally controls and rules ICC (international board) and cricket. Government-BCCI have this inseparable money-politics kind of relationship. IPL franchises are owned by huge companies and this govt doesn't want to displease them. All all I agree, in this national crisis situation some of that money can be put to good use. Whom to blame here, I am myself watching matches of my fav team, after these disappointing shows by Indian badminton team some of my cricket interest rekindled.
Our Nation is in Crisis now. Pandemic is in alarming state. Even though my State officials is handling the situation well so far, if the crisis prolongs and more and more people get affected, nobody will know what will happen even in my state. They handled it very well until some of the religious gatherings which were unnecessary. Nobody has time to watch IPL if this goes on like this.
Need for system, culture and coaches. But how can this happen if hemanta biswas of Assam BJP is BAI head.
IPL is now stopped so there definitely is a national crisis going on despite what the politicians say about the oxygen availability - next they will be saying there is plenty of oxygen in the air.....
Since you took the name of politics, You know there exists a list of elites that goes like this: 1. Mao 2. Stalin, 3, Hitler, 4, Mussolini, 5, Not so random gurathi tea guy Our tea guy is curious to run in and top that list, people should now learn the importance of a learned politician. That bastard has all the time to support local vaccine companies but he was blind sighted by dogma of ignorance and victory. He is a victorious politician but PiMp of a PM.
Thanks @Cheung for acknowledging reality, which has become such a rarity, though local media is not as vocal as they should be at least international media and public are noticing it and putting pressure.
Team left for tokyo last night, this time I can see all foreign coaches only Agus, Boe, Park and Gopi is not travelling. This time India is sending a very weak and out of form team, interesting to see what happens. I am expecting a bronze at max
Which coaches are traveling? Agus, Boe, Park, Gopi not traveling, then who's traveling with the players ? Sidayat ?
Since only 4 badminton players qualified there was a restriction on how many coaches and physios travelled with the Indian team. IOA initially cleared 2 coaches and 2 physios. They relented and allowed 3rd coach as an extra official. Park Tae Sang and Mathias Boy are the official coaches and will be allowed to stay in the Games village. Since Agus Santoso is an extra official he is not allowed in the Games village during practice and has to stay at a nearby hotel. During competition matches he can only coach Praneeth from the stands. Not the ideal situation for Praneeth but that's the tradeoff with few qualifying. Team India in Practice
What is the point of sending Agus then, if they don't want to use his services, I think his presence and experience will help Sindhu as well. I dont know why IOA behaves so senselessly.
