As I’ve got both in 3U, I’d say that Pro version has an easier power generation but 88S classic has a higher power ceiling

If you want to do consecutive smashes: 88S Pro
If you wanna end up the rally with one smash: 88S

I just got a 88D Pro 3u. Anxious to try it out. Been using ZF2 3U for a few years now.

Most people don’t seem to mention whether they are using the 3U or 4U versions.

I've owned the 88D (2018 and 2020). Both was too stiff for me. I like my current racket Li-Ning Tectonic 7.
How is the 88D Pro? will it be easier to use than the 88D(2018 and 2020)? How is it compared to Tectonic 7?

I tried the 88D Pro, and it feels even stiffer than the 88d 2018.
However, 88d pro is more user friendly than the other 88d because of its balance.

If you don't like stiff shaft, it would definitely suck.

Thanks for you answer. I’m not sure if it’s the balance or the stiffness that made 88D (2018 &2020) not so suitable for me. If felt like very hard to generate a good stroke.

Currently using the Tectonic 7 and Astrox 77. Both works well for me.

I tried the 88D pro 3U last night. Compared to ZFII 3U, it doesn’t smash as hard but slightly faster to swing.

I tried AStrox 77 before. For me, it wasn’t a good racquet

How is the smash power compared with the 88d pro vs AX99 vs ZFII?

    Smash: Ax99 > ZFII > 88d pro

    Speed: 88d pro > ZFII > Ax99
    Stiffness: 88d pro >= ZFII > Ax99
    Head-heavy: Ax99 > ZFII > 88d pro

A bit less but also the head is also slightly less. When I have them in my hand and practice swings, I can’t really feel a difference. However, when I play, the 88D pro is slightly faster to move, with a bit less power in the smash. This is for the 3U versions.

I haven’t tried the 4U version. Going to try and borrow from my friend if he turns up tonight.

I'm surprised you say it's stiffer than zf2 I've got the 88d pro and from what I can remember from my zf2. I don't think it's stiffer. It's definitely not as head heavy. It's a 4u I feel it lacks a bit of power. How would you compare it to the 3u version if you tried both.

I've got the 4u version it's nice in all areas but just find it lacks a bit of power. Let us know how you get on with it

    ?

I wrote it seems less stiff. Maybe I didn’t word it clearly

I compared the 3U versus the 4U last night. They both felt similar except with a bit less weight in the 4U. I definitely couldn’t get my body weight into the smash so well with the 4U. On the other hand, it does feel slightly faster.

bear in mind both versions are new racquets for me so it’s not as if I am very used to the 3U and don’t like to change.

Overall, they don’t feel vastly different. Choosing one or the other (3U vs 4U) depends on personal preference.

when I have chances to have a 88d pro, I'll choose the 3U weight for some reason.

Here's my second video in the Pro/Tour/Game series - the 88S models.
TLDR: They play very different compared to the Pro's

Its now time for the 88D Pro/Tour/Game versions' review and comparison:
Again, they felt very different compared to their Pro big brother!

Not clear how to compare stiffness or how it affects the power of the racket, but its much easier to smash using the ZFII than the 88D/88D Pro.

Am still looking for the rightful successor to the ZFII.

Btw, did anyone notice the on-going Tokyo Olympics .. the 88D/S Pro is widely used. Especially the Jap ladies game. Even the older 88D is commonly seen.

That's very surprising to hear considering the ZF2 has a compact head and is more stiffer.
