As much as I dislike Park Joo Bong for being a traitor selling all the badminton secrets to Japan and now Japan is better than Korea, he holds the record for being the only guy to win Olympic Gold Medal as a player (Korea) and coach (Japan)
You're the guy who in another thread said that coaches should go to other countries to work for free. Under your principles, you would call them traitors. …
This one is different. He could go to any country but to coach Japan, a political and historical enemy of Korea and build them to be even stronger than Korea. That is unfathomable.
Not really. I believe it's very personal for PJB. He has some bad blood with KBA. So what is the best way for him to get back at them for what they did to him? If I were him, i would go to my enemies/rivals and make them better to piss them off. I always wonder why he chooses Japan of all places? He could go to Singapore, Thailand, USA, Canada or Hong Kong/Taiwan but why Japan. Japan is no stranger to badminton. They have a strong brand like Yonex, an international system and the people are generally enthusiastic about the sports. It's just that they are always inferior to the other big players and they are often bullied on court. I remember watching Thomas/Uber/Sudirman Cups, Japan is always bulldozed by the same group of traditional badminton teams. So it is personal.
Selective memory of yours? Park was coaching England team and Malaysian team before Japan. Why did he choose those places? Why did Lee Jae Bok coach the England team? Why did Tan Kim Her coach England and India ? Why did Rexy coach England? Why did Eng Hian and Flandy play for England? Why did Rexy coach Malaysia? Why is Rexy coaching Malaysia again? Why did Yang Yang and Han Jian coach Malaysia to win the Thomas Cup defeating China along the way.…?
