Both Kevin and Sinyo have won this title 4 times....winning 1 more does not add any other value. It is the major title (World Championships, Olympics) that matters to them now! They need to be refreshed to bring more life to Kevin, who is now as you said emotionless and is disinterested. Perhaps Daniel Marthin can be partnered with Kevin after the conclusion of the World Championships 2021?
they would like to trade some of their SS titles with Olympics or even WC, if possible, because how precious the big event titles for the players not because they have too many SS titles
Anyone have updates on Okuhara, Nagahara and Hirota? What injuries do they actually have? Fukushima not playing WD anymore. I mean now is like Shida/Matsuyama as the highest ranked available. Man injuries are killer to athletes, especially Woman. Not everyone is built like Marin.
Then, Most of the players wont even able to trade it as they wont win that much titles in their whole career . I think we should not compare both.
I am not liking Kevin at all. He understands that people are defending Gideons smashes and it's going to be a long rally and he isn't prepared to work. I am not sure pairing against any one else is going to work. He needs to work and be able to play long rallies. Can't just expect a weak lift in 2-3 smashes so that he can finish from the front that is never going to happen.
Secondly Kevin looks as if he doesn't want to partner Gideon at all. Such a demoralizing demeanour he has. Perhaps he has to learn a lot from Ahsan Setiawan and other IND pairs who are gems in their behaviour.
Having said that I am really impressed with Kobayashi's skills. Excellent attack and amazing deft touches in the front. Hopefully this left right combination can fill the big shoes of Endo
