Lost the match point with a service error. Congrats Puava/Taera. What a dominant performance, dismantling WataHiga with convincing scoreline of 21-12, 21-13. Sent from my M2007J20CG using Tapatalk
Well, it's clearer and clearer that the titles they've won so far were on the back of strong Watanabe performances. Today, he played like he's 6 years older and his movement was so slow. He didn't even bother to try for smash winners; all drops, slices and attempted deceptions.
She gets badly exposed whenever she's playing against quality XD pairs. This game is one of the obvious examples. Sent from my M2007J20CG using Tapatalk
Can't fault only one of them this match. Watanabe didn't play as well as he normally does, seems to be tired. Doesn't look as tired as at indo masters, but still sluggish. Higashino made many mistakes and her weaker defense was taken advantage of. But it's true that her net play isn't as strong as others, relying on speed to be able to kill at the front. Watagashi usually play fast, so the slower conditions probably also frustrated them. Props to the Thai pair, they have been playing well. Sent from my Pixel 4a using Tapatalk
With all due respect, she's good at closing down the net given that she's playing with a lot of confidence. But she's got it all wrong today. Need not talk about her defense, or lack thereof. Sent from my M2007J20CG using Tapatalk
Thai's pair have a plan and they are successful. I think that Bali's stadium with slow shuttle was unfit with Wata-Higa's playing style. I feel that Wata-Higa will struggle in World Tour Final too.
A strong end to the first-set by the Minions as they look sharp in taking it 21-14, taking 7 out of the last 8 pts since 14-13!
The INA pair forges a strong start, leading 11-8 in the second-set. Both players look fired up and Kevin actually celebrated when winning pts....
Revenge for Daddies, complete. Kudos, Minion for avenging last week's defeat! That'll keep Hoki's annoying screams in check. Sent from my M2007J20CG using Tapatalk
Koba/yuta would be scary, koba is probably not as solid as endo defensively (although still strong) but he definitely has got much better attack, he got some deft touch as well
This is what you will get if the Minions are fired up! This is likely their best performance this year as Marcus Fernaldi Gideon/Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo avenge their defeat last week to Takuro Hoki/Yugo Kobayashi in straight-sets 21-14, 21-18 in just 38 mins! Both players are really playing to their potential, especially Gideon. Kevin too didn't disappoint with his fighting spirit in this match (finally you see that after being so indifferent in the past few weeks)! You can also witness their delight after they won the last point. Can this be their turning point as they prepare themselves towards the World Championships in Huelva next month? 5 individual tourneys since the Thomas Cup victory; 4 consecutive Finals and 2 titles (Super 1000 and Super 500). The other 2 Finals (Super 750) were lost to Hoki/Kobayashi (such a close match last week) and Ko Sung Hyun/Shin Baek Cheol (17-21, 20-22). What more can you ask for from them honestly?
