Depends what are you selecting them for. Going for a win? For their future development?

I think for team events Malaysia should just send their best performing team and try to win. Development can be done by sending the players to International Challenge tournaments. It's more transparent and fair that way.

Best performing doesn't mean highest rank to me but most recent achievements. Malaysia MD3 already won a world tour title before the MD1 and MD2 and they are younger. So even though their rank is lower I do feel they should be selected. I believe Ong/Teo too has won a world tour title and just recently bronze in the World Championship so they should also be selected.

For WS,all the players except Soniia are around the same age and similar achievements so it's hard to say who should make it in. So in my opinion, they should just revert to world ranking.

    Yes, I was expecting more.

There is a wide range of ability within the B Team. This is the first time that Japan has sent players of this type of calibre to the Asia Team Championships. As mentioned in another post, creating opportunities for youngsters to gain international experience is great, but it can be done at lower-ranked individual tournaments.

Simultaneously, B+/A- Teamers, such as Kawakami, and Takahashi A., not to mention Naraoka and Watanabe Koki, who could have also benefitted from this experience, have been withdrawn from the German Open (they were placed fairly high on the reserve list and, at least Watanabe, Naraoka, and Kawakami stood a good chance of participating).

I have no idea what coaches' strategy is.

Loh Kean Yew level of play didn't describe what he had demonstrated in Huelva 2021, lack of speed, poor accuracy, mediocre defense, contributing massive cheap points particularly in lousy opening game. His footwork in this match looked awkward, on the other side home fave is back on track. High expectation automatically for Singaporean humble player after snatched World Champion title, still waiting his performance next months to prove world championships gold medal is no fluke.

India lost 2-3 to Malaysia. Again if the Indian federation had chosen better doubles pairs, India could have won.

If I was in charge, I would have definitely selected these three doubles pairs:-
    1. Gayathri & Treesa
    2. Tanisha & Rutuparna
    3. Shikha & Ashwini

You'll get used to this embarrassment. You're quite young and more energetic than us othet Indian posters who have seen much of unprofessional attitude from BAI as well as top players. Only thing I can say to you is don't expect much from fellow country players and association.

Hmm, Malaysia team A is certainly doing well, while other countries send in their 2nd team. Might be a good morale boost for them. I know that this tournament doesn't carry much weight, as the primary goal is just to secure a place in thomas/uber cup. Still, Malaysia playing at home ground, winning might be a good chance for the team to grow, especially after recent endless saga

How does one watch in India?
    Any live streaming available?

Is there an option to watch via VPN?
Will BWF TV also broadcast from 18 Feb?

Badminton Asia channel is only airing Malaysia matches till 17th.

Am not sure if they will stream non-Malaysia matches from 18th.
Can someone who knows the arrangement confirm.

There is no channel in India will is slated to telecast the matches from 18th onwards.
So audience in India will need to find some way to see the matches live.
