Definitely I have hope in Meiraba. Dont know about kiran. Meiraba was excellent until he got blood injury. That too in his playing fingers. Blood spilled all over the court which needed 5 minutes break . That broke the rhythm and he lost it

Ashmita, I watched her Tata Open 2018 IC final. After that, I said she has some HBJesque style and if she improves, she has a good chance to reach top 30. 4 years have passed. She is at same level or regressed. Aakarshi, Malvika, Ashmita won't reach the top. At max maybe top 40. I'll be happy to be wrong.

Kiran now 22, nothing impressive as of now. Priyanshu nothing impressive. Meiraba 19 now nothing impressive. But Meiraba to me is the best choice among three, next 3 years will be crucial to know where he'll be heading. But I'll be honest, whatever promise he showed in early Juniors , the hype created by media, OGQ support he has not fulfilled the potential as of now.

Uber Cup is gonna be interesting only from last 4 whereas Thomas cup is gonna provide fireworks right from Day1

I'm waiting for them to showcase full potential since 2017 :p. Hoping they'll choose the "best team" and rest is up to our boys.

    Regarding UC, not much hope.

PV will probably rest for UC.

If PV plays, Terese/Gayatri play WD2 then it will be interesting. I don't think Saina can win WS5.

    Guys a quick question.

Do you think Indian management will ditch doubles players again and pair two Singles players in Doubles ?

We have decent backup doubles players this time! So hopefully we won’t see that pain show this time!

According to me, these would be the best teams

Men's - Lakshya Sen, Kidambi Srikanth, H S Prannoy, Sameer Verma, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy, Chirag Shetty, M R Arjun, Dhruv Kapila Vishnuvardhan Goud Panjala, Krishna Prasad Garaga

Women's - P V Sindhu, Ashmita Chaliha, Anupama Upadhyaya, Tasnim Mir, Ashwini Ponappa, Sikki Reddy, Treesa Jolly, Gayathri Gopichand, Tanisha Crasto, Rutuparna Panda

I know Saina is not in the best of form. But omitting Saina will be a huge blunder. I can vouch for present Saina beating Ashmita, Anupama, Tasnim easily. I don't think Rituparna Panda will be selected coz of her differences with Gopi Academy.

Whether Indian Management ditch them or Our own doubles players not having interest, we don't know. Once Satwik /Chirag didn't participate because of the fear of Corona and hence B rated players participated instead of them. I still remember that.

I don’t think so. It is high time we move past Saina. Except for the one off game that she took off AY, her performances have been less than ordinary. My instinct says a handful of youngsters will beat SN

If i am not wrong, Malvika Bansod has defeated Saina but Malvika was defeated by 14 year old Unnati Hooda.

What differences? And if this happens, it would be really sad and would speak a lot about corruption and politics in Indian badminton. I do not expect this from Gopichand.

Whoa, Mithun Manjunath makes it to the semis of Orlean Masters. This was unexpected.

You'll be surprised to know stories. Read about infamous Gutta outbursts, Prajakta Sawant, Vaishnavi Jakka, TOPS scheme fiasco and now Panda.

You can find rituparna panda article in this thread shared by @arjevo. Maybe 3-4 pages back.

TOPS scheme fiasco was related to Gutta Ponappa exclusion and adding of Guru SaiDutt and HSP to the list which already had Kashyap and KS. At that time there was a rule that at max 2 singles players can qualify from a country if he/she is in top 16. So there was no need to add GuruSai Dutt and excluding the country's top WD pair from that scheme. Gopi was blamed. He was a advisory member of TOPS scheme.
