Congratulations to India for making history in the Thomas Cup! It will be India vs Indonesia for the finals on Sunday. I hope Prannoy is not injured because if he is injured, this changes things for MS 3. Now for the finals, if Laksha Sen can win against Ginting, this will open the door for India to win the Thomas Cup. Because I have no faith that India's MD 2 can win. MD 2 will probably be a gift to Indonesia. So Laksha Sen winning is very important. A Laksha Sen loss puts so much pressure on India, because I doubt India will win MD 2 either. India cannot always rely on Chetty/Satwig, Srikanth, and Prannoy winning their matches, that's too tight of a line to hold (plus, Chetty/Satwig may be up against Ahsan/Kevin, I don't know if I favor Chetty/Satwig over Ahsan/Kevin). This is why Laksha Sen must win, to give some breathing room for his teammates. A win by India's MD 2 would be a huge upset. I don't expect it, and I think it's unlikely. Anyways, there is a path for India to win the Thomas Cup, but it starts with Laksha Sen. For Indonesia, Ginting is a big question mark. Ginting could play like he did in his first 3 Thomas Cup losses, or he could play like his last 2 Thomas Cup wins. I don't know what to expect of Ginting.
JPN sould have given Naraoka more international exposure for the last 5 years or so, he is way behind same gen MS players from other countries
May I ask who is the commentator on JPN-INA match on BWF YouTube? She seems to have an Indian accent and her call at the end of the IND-MY match was brilliant. Would have been great if she called the IND-DEN match : )
