What a great point at 14-15 of the second game. Both Srikanth and Weng went head to head with Weng playing a string of good shots to close the rally

Only watched second half of second game but if this wasn’t an Olympic year, I think you could try and argue Shi YuQi wasn’t trying to win that match. Far too many unforced errors and no pace of movement whatsoever.

Wow, Kiran George beats Shi Yuqi. He was down 17-20 in second game, clinches 5 successive points to win the match. I felt at 17-19, shi Yuqi shuttle went out, KG went for a challenge but challenge option wasn’t available in ct4. Very good result by him.

Sameer Verma couldn't handle Magnes Johannesen. The latter was just too good.

    Player commitment regulations
Top fifteen singles players and top ten doubles pairs in the World Ranking will be required to play in all 4 Super 1000, all 6 Super 750, and 2 out of 8 Super 500 tournaments occurring in the full calendar year, making it a total of 12 mandatory tournaments. A fine of US$5000 per event will be imposed upon players/pairs who fail to play. Exemption from penalty will be considered by BWF on receipt of a valid medical certificate or strong evidence that prove players unfit to participate. However, suspended or retired are not subject to these regulations

Already 5pm (evening) and only at match 11-12 of 20… this will go way pass midnight.

minions match 20 and by then BWF will cut its live stream.

Yes, very strange. It is 10 pm. in Thailand now, and still 5 more matchs to go in court 1. Feels bad for the players. Minions will probably finish playing at 3am o_O

I am not that concerned about BWF livestream, more concern about the players ability to play well in the following days
It is bad for players who don't sleep late that the schedule disturb their sleeping habits. I think Marcus is one who sleep early
It may be bad for umpire too if they are not used to late night, it could affect their judgement

He looked like he was taking it easy most of the game, a few simple mistakes but physically fine. My only theory is he wants to bomb out and then go for the Singapore Open title, that's a Super 750 v this one Super 500. More ranking points and prize money but risky thing to do with his history

Can't help thinking how easy it is for a badminton pro to make money from betting. Just use some friend to pick the money
