Yes. Everytime. When I was a kid, I used to use my racket to pick shuttles up from the floor, just like any normal person would. Then I think something snapped inside my mind upon seeing scratches on my favorite rackets, so I changed to hands, and I was happy ever after ~ Back to the main topic, in the clubs where I usually play at, there are at least 20 1000Z users since its release back in June, and I have never seen or heard anyone complaining about the durability issue yet. Maybe we are too weak to be able to break a racket by hitting a shuttle? Or maybe our sweet spot game is so on point? Sometimes I just think the minority of people who complain are always the loudest, and suddenly their opinions eclipse over the rest who rarely or never say anything. Sometimes people clash their rackets then say something like "Oh, my other racket would survive this clash just fine, unlike this fragile one as it is broken now." Well, do we measure the force of our racket clashes everytime? It's difficult to gauge it. And don't underestimate it when we hit the shuttles with strong force on the frame. It adds up to the thick and supposedly crispy frame of the 1000Z.
Yesterday, a friend brought a 1000Z and got my kid to try out. Her usual racquet is 88D Pro 3U with BG80 at 28lbs. Her smash is already pretty strong on par with 14/15 year old boys This 1000Z was strung at 32lbs (yeah the owner is a bit crazy). He fed her some shuttles for smashes after warming up. The speed and sound of the smash was incredible. She adjusted really quickly - I did tell her to shorten the overhead swing a bit because the racquet is a bit stiffer than 88D Pro. The owner is restringing it again with BG 80 at 28lbs to lend to her. Pretty excited to see what happens tonight in her game.
^ Not shorten the swing, but make it more compact and explosive. But seriously, that heavy a racket? How's her defence with it? Sent from my SM-S918W using Tapatalk
We did the feeding routine where the coach feeds flat shuttles from under the net with the netting pulled up. Then let her choose whatever shot she wants to play - lift, drive return, redirect cross court. This routine is very good for making the defender use a crouch defence. Her stance was strong and the strokes look good. It did need a bit of time to adapt for the defence. Head light lets her use short snappy action on defence. We only did a few routines yesterday.
That’s why it’s being restrung to a lower tension. We just had a recent trip to Malaysia. She had a few sessions there and seems to have learnt something from playing with different people. She’s not eligible for BAM though That is good or bad? LOL
@visor New restring at 28lbs. She felt she didn’t play so well with it Not sure whether it was after school therefore tired from the day, different tension or because it was in actual match play rather than controlled feeding.
Here's the video. Either this one, or a longer one on the guiness world record channel said it was a 3u racquet iirc
This racquet was totally sold out in HK. One retailer said to me stock had been diverted to India to be sold at a higher price because the world record holder suddenly made the racquet really popular! I also asked a couple of shops in Malaysia- also sold out. I was looking for t shirts for my girl around a few shops in HK. Asked about stock for 1000z at the same time and none available. However, one shop had a 3U and guess what…. On enquiry, they had a total of five pieces. You know who got a bit excited and cleared them up with added incentive of 5% discount on each racquet
A couple of days ago, one shop told me new stock of 4U was about to arrive. Do have a check to see if this is true. That was just before the flooding.
I’m looking for a comparison to the 3U jet speed 10. That one is slightly lacking power to me on slow court conditions. I haven’t quite found a comparison to theJS 10 from the comments.Makes me feel I’m old now that the zf II and the jet speed 10 aren’t talked about. I have tried the other new ones coming through but I haven’t found anything that beats those two.
