No, I meant I feared the result would be like this, therefore a SYQ defeat. I don’t dislike AA but not one of my favourites, sometimes his time wasting grates a bit, but when things go his way, he would let the game flow, he’d goes as far as not wanting the court wiped etc, I did congrat him on his win today, I am fair.
Lin Chun-yi was attacking like crazy against li shi feng, but lost tamely to Antonsen. Shi yuqi beat axelsen yesterday and lost tamely to Antonsen today. Something about AA makes his opponents play worse. He just doesn't give his opponents the chances to make things happen. He doesn't smash a lot, not full smashes anyway. He mostly just plays a controlling game, but at a higher pace than most, and hitting shots early.
The creeping Jesus of Badminton, his play creeps up on you and you crash and burn, if he’s on it he’s very hard to pin down, most unpredictable player out.
Ugh, Indian pair had a little mishap before the mid game interval, and it cost them the match Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Liang/Wang overcame a mountain to win the g3 and the match… almost lost 11-3 in g3 interval after liang’s service error in late g3, I thought he wouldn’t come back, but oh boy, he played a very crucial part in several last points in g3
Brilliant comeback by Chinese pair. RankiShetty couldn’t hold a healthy 10-3 lead in third game and lost. Hope I get to witness the avenge of this loss next Sunday live (want both of them in final).
A bit of complacency, made a few UEs and the lead wasn’t high enough for the Chinese pair to bridge from the difficult end Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Congrats for WangLiang 6th SS. Any chance they overcoming Minions record of 29SS with more tournaments in calendar?
How long has Mathias Boe been coaching Indian doubles?, has he made a big difference?, sorry I don’t follow doubles much.
More specifically: They have improved a lot in the service situation. They've always been good attackers, but their defense has "caught up", and often (maybe not today with these fast conditions) what happens is they can stay in the rally while on the defense, but once they are on the attack they get through, especially against lesser pairs. They also seem to play very deliberately into the opponent's perceived weakness. It is often clear what their coach directs them to do, and they are pretty flexible in their style of play. Finally, it seems like their mentality has improved. They are generally less nervy and more hungry to win than before. It seems their game is modeled after Boe's vision, taking a strategic approach depending on each opponent, emphasizing the importance of the service situation, and mental resilience. Not unlike Boe himself when he was a player.
A great teacher knows how to pass on the knowledge and experience. Most importantly the things which his students should never do what the master once did.
similar to LiangWang, showing best results due to their current coach Chen Qiqiu who succeeded Zhang Jun…
All players/coaches are keep on learning!.. Prannoy has been doing with some tricky shots.. AA has now learned Tricky shots with high pace?..
But, to be fair, why is it a dirty tactic if the tournament rules allow it, not to mention the opponent is not complaining? Besides, any player is entitled to medical timeout and I'm sure almost every player has used it before. Well, if it's a loophole, then BWF should look into it and plug it or leave it, to be on the safe side. I'm neutral as far as the players are concerned, we should study the rules per se on their own merits and implement what's best or improve, amend or tweak as necessary weighing the pros and cons.
