hey, the other day i was at a store looking at the yonex armortec 500 and i noticed that it was already strung (with BG 65 and had YY stencled on). so i asked the guy in the shop and he said that yonex has started to factory string them with BG65. He said it would prob be about 22lbs tension. Do any of you know if Yonex has indeed started to factory string At500 with BG65(or any other string)? thanks
Yup, I have a UK Armotec500 and it was factory strung with BG-65Ti at (supposedly) 22lbs. Felt more like 20lbs though. Way too low for me, plus I hate BG65Ti anyway.
no it wasnt, cuz there were like5 of them(prestrung) on the shelves. One more question, if it is true that yonex is now factory stringing the AT500, what tension do u think they would string it at? thanks PS: I might try emailing Yonex Canada and ask them, they might know
Normally yonex rackets in store are strung and mostly strung with BG65 as it is the cheapest string. The tension is 20-22lbs but when you press it, its like less than 20lbs. And after a few games, the string looks like some childhood badminton rackets' string.
just an update... I emailed yonex and they just replied and they said they do factory string rackets for stores that request it (ie: sports experts, thats where i saw the rackets) and it would be about 18 lbs tension.
No problem. I also asked about the new Nanospeed 6000 for some more details . I'll let you know what they say about it.
hey just got a reply from yonex canada (they sure are fast). this is what they wrote regarding the nanospeed 6000- "I do not know anything about the Nanospeed 6000 racquet. It is not in the line for this year (06) so IF we were going to get it, it would not be until early 07. I do not have any specs on it as of yet."
blah, which store did you goto? And I don't think that's factory strung. The racquet should be PRE-strung. Factory strings are different. Ever went to national sports and took a look at those isometrics?
ya your right Neosakai. When it is factory strung, (like my isometric 30) the strings are some cheap, generic strings, that lose there tension very easily, but what i meant was Pre-strung with BG-65. My mistake. On the rackets head attached to the strings there was the usual cardborad piece explaining all the details of an Armortec as well as another piece of cardboard that says it was strung with the most popular yonex string, BG-65. I am getting a new racket soon but im first going to cunsult my coach, on advice of which racket i should get, (he would probably let me try a few out also). If he recommends something headheavy (offensive) I am most likely going to go with the AT500 since I found one for 130$ CDN.
sure, no problem. Well its kind of a long story but ill tell you. When I went to SPORTS EXPERTS, i noticed that the AT500 was already strung so i asked the guy and he was also surprised by this. He then asked me If I was thinking of buying one and i said "probably" then he offered me 25$ off (from 155$ to 130$ CDN). I have no idea why he offered me a discount though. But you could just maybe try going to the store and asking for it cheaper If not you still get a preatty good deal (155 with strings) opposed to 160$ plus strings (about 180$) so you still save about 25$ CDN. If you have any more questions, feel free to PM me or post it here.
ummmmmm... lemme think. they have the MP99, Mp66, AT800def,AT300, there might be an AT700, I THINK there is a nanospeed (not sure whther it is 7000 or 8000). um... what else....oh ya a Cab 30MS, some lower end MP's, cabs and iso's. And I think thats about it. Thats only in one of the three (or maybe two) on ottawa. There are probably other rackets in other stores.
