hi guys, i suppose i'm being lazy really. my stringer found a crack in the frame of my racquet last night which has prompted me to find a replacment. i thought about getting the same one, but there is only one place to get it from and i'm a bit fed up with the guy who sells them after he wouldn't replace a faulty one (the handle came away) http://www.inflightsports.co.uk/proddetail.asp?prod=EVOL180 is the location of my current racquet spec. if you guys can find a racquet that will perform similarly i'd be much obliged.. cheers guys Coops
well. since it's 85g, head-heavy-balanced and stiff. i'd say you should take a look at the Yonex armortec series. i'm guessing at300. or at500..
hehe.. not a big fan of yonex tho - and i've tried my brothers at300 - really didn't like it.. dunno why.. the evo power frame it mentions is a clone of the muscle power frame.. any MP racquets out there with a similar spec?
Maybe you could try some forza kevlar 9 or kevlar 11. The brand new 2005 racquets have just come out, allowing you to get really good bargains on the 2004 ones (named model-04).
funny you should say that - i saw these on pwp.. your right you can get good deals, and they look very similar.. thanks.. more suggestions anybody? Coops
Try out some Babolat racquets, there is one for everyone. I love the solid feel and the cheap price. For you i would recommend the Satelite Pulsar or Nitro. There's a shop called direct-sports-eshop which sometimes appears on the google ads on the BC home page. They sell Babolats. Also there's www.babolat.com
I bought my Forza Titanium 10 from pwp.com and must say it was a good bargain (3 for £149 GBP= 50/each). Can't say anything about the Kevlar 9 or 11 since I haven't tried them but I didn't liked the Kevlar 7. Kevlar series is supposed to be head heavy but i think *not* stiff, more towards the flexible side IIRC. I second that you should give Babolat a try, only heard nice things about them from the players in the local club. One of my regular opponents bought one last week.... /mats
MP frame has nothing to do with matching up with similar balance, feel, stiffness and weight of a racket. Also, u dunno why u dislike your bro's at300. We cant help u when u dunno why u like and/or dislike a comparable racket.
sorry... answering the questions while at work always results in poor answers.. at300.. let's see... altho i like my stiff racquet, i think the handle has come flex in in on the inflight.. the yonex feels really stiff.. also i think the balance is closer to the handle than the inflight.. head heavy is certainly what i prefer.. the guy who strings my racquets has lent me a yehlex and a fleet racquet. can't remember the make's.. but neway.. babolat doesn't seem to be readily available in the UK.. do you know any websites that i can get babolat racquets from? can get the forza ones from pwp.. be nice to test them tho.. Coops
http://www.directsportseshop.co.uk/ This shop sells Babolats at a reasonable price. I think there are a few others as well. About the Forzas, there are some PWP shops around the UK, go to one and just ask if you can test one. They give you a 14 day test period, and if they don't have the racket you want ask them to send one in and they'll call you when they get it.
