Oh, now I think I know who you are, ;) . By the way, do you still remember that some time ago I sent you an
email about a guy from Canada who got killed playing badminton? I got that story from this very forum.

    Good luck with the games!!

Yes, the name of the thread was "killed in action" I believe. What happened was
that the racket of one of his opponents broke at the joint between the shaft and
handle during a smash, and the broken bit flew across the court and pierced
through the unlucky guy's eye into his brain -- an instant kill.

Wow, after reading the threads, it sounds so discouraging to play badminton down there. *SIGH* I just came back from a week in Melbourne and i enjoyed the rather "laid-back" life style. I visited some relatives who live in the Glen Waverly area as well. A quiet place.

I will be moving to Melbourne in feb, the Preston suburb to be exact for at least 4 years. So anyone in the Melbourne area, please feel free to contact me if u want a little friendly smashing.. :D cheers

    sunday group in kilsyth

sunday group is in kilsyth 4:00 - 7:00 pm charging $8.0 suited for experienced players. now the group changes the rule "no extra conditions just pay $8.0 for section", in half year ago they don't welcome new players because too many people so that they put a rule "the new player need to pay $12.0 for four sections."

    Heya,
You seem to know a few things about locations to play aroung Melbourne and i'm an Irish Girl just after coming over. I was wondering is there any clubs around in Melbourne at all... I know there are courts to play in but is there clubs???? Furthermore, is there anywhere in the northern of eastern suburbs ideally since i live in Preston but work at the moment in Canterbury... Anyone help!!!!

Where are all your clubs hiding?

    Hey guys,

I'm really confused... I'm an Irish girl just after arriving in Melbourne and i can't seem to find your badminton clubs anywhere. Played a fair bit back home and would love to continue it here. Has anyone any idea where i'd find a good sociable but competitive team. I'm living in Preston but working in Canterbury so anywhere on that route would be possible.. Any suggestions... pretty please!

David, haven't updated my spreadsheet to include Southern Star yet. I just started playing there as well on Wednesday nights. Good place, friendly people and most of all high badminton standard.
