I think Hendra is slightly over 6'0" and Markis is 5'7". Hafiz i think is the tallest. I was surprised to see Lee Chong Wei at 5'10" to 5'11". Also Taufik and WCH. I still have to download some of our pics with Taufik, LCW and WCH. Coming soon...
Some pics of our junior member.. ..here are some pics of harimau's daughter, Claudia, with some ex-national players(all Indonesians)...hmm, see if you guys can spot some of those ex-national players...enjoy-
i didn't know Yang Yang and Kim Dong Moon used to play for Indonesia.... but oh boy, Ricky did gain a LOT of weight.
My Contributions... Hi everyone, Well I didn't even know this thread was here. But I just spent an hour going through everyone's pics, and so many of you are so lucky! I have attached the 4 measly pics that I managed to get at the World Championships. Assuming they get loaded in order... I have me and Howard Bach, then me and Tony Gunawan, at the Orange County Badminton Club, the Sunday after the World Championship. Howard had no voice at all. Not barely a whisper even. Howard was very friendly and even asked a little bit about my competing at the high level when I was in Canada. The second one is of Gao Ling (I hope). My fiancee spotted her actually, shopping at the Yonex table. I don't know who that is with her, but I do recognize his face as one of the coaches I think...though not positive. The second one is a photo of me and Gao Ling. Btw, there was a thread about her not being friendly, and my impression was totally the opposite. Friendly, smiling, and also very patient because the first photo did not turn out, and we had to do a second. I might have gotten more photos but I was so nervous to ask. Even my fiancee had to go ask Gao Ling. I saw Chen Qiqiu going into Disneyland with someone else I didn't recognize, but couldn't get up the nerve...I was very close to Peter, but he was warming up for a match, so maybe that was good that I didn't talk to him, but still I was looking for a reason to justify my being nervous. And I am not in real life. Kwun, and Dan (DinkAlot--formerly S4Madman), and lots of others who met would (hopefully) tell you I am friendly and fairly relaxed... But for some reason I lose it around the badminton idols I have. Anyhow, thanks for listening... Cory
Yes, Cory is a Badminton Hero. Very mellow and kick back. P.S. Nice pics with other Badminton Heroes.
Nice pics chris! Hmm...I thought the second pic is with Kim Dong Moon? And the one in the second last pic doesn't look like an ex-Indonesian player to me. Looks more like a China player? Oh my god....I haven't seen Ricky Subadja for a long long time...he does seem to have gained some weight
Wow...that is Yang Yang ah? Almost couldn't recognize him...but my hunch is correct...that man is indeed an ex-China player
One of the pictures was Christian Hadinata, a badminton legend who basically single handedly transformed Indonesian players into world double champions and power for many generations. The last one is Joko Supriyanto, Sony Kuncoro coach.
Now I have mixed feelings about posting! I was wrong about Gao Ling, and to be honest, I was so nervous, I said 3 different names to my fiancee from across the table looking down. As I told you my fiancee had to walk around and ask her, and she said her name was on the jacket, but she didn't know what it was (she didn't even know what "badminton" was before agreeing to go with me to the WC!) Anyhow, so we ran around the table, but I was too nervous to really look at her, and of course Heather was taking the picture. All this time I just figured it was Gao Ling, and only yesterday when I uploaded did I say to myself that I didn't think it was Gao Ling, because for the first time I saw the face full on. So I feel a little silly. And she was very nice, but one of my favorite chinese players is definitely Gao Ling because she smiles and seems to have a lot of fun, all the while winning many matches. So I feel a little foolish there... Also, it was Tony that was very friendly and talkative. Howard was as well, but as I posted, he had no voice to talk with. So I wanted to straighten that out. Another thing to feel silly about... But I also feel good because Dan said I was a hero, and I think I'm only a hero in the eyes two people in the world...but trying to make an impact on more... And is that really Yang Yang? I don't think it looks much like him at all, and I have 2 or 3 videos of his matches...so I don't know. But could we post who the pictures are with? Not like me, where you screw up the names, but for real. Because I don't know many of these players, having fallen out of badminton completely for 10 years. Also, I wanted to know who was the guy in the picture posted yesterday by Tezta.com? Thanks all! Cory
