FYI, stuff I hear through the grapevine...

Outside the main arena, Yang Yang will have a stall where you can see their products. (Wed-Sun I think)

Unfortunately, Central Sports have gained status as the Official and only Retailer, so Yang Yang products will not be available for sale.

There may be a limited supply of miscellaneous items being given away free (not racquets or shoes) like key rings or mini-shuttles. I'm not sure about what or how many, so don't hold me to it.

Yonex's legal department have also issued some sort of injunction to prevent Yang Yang from displaying a couple of their racquets and shoes.
I think the disputed racquets are the NanSensation 10 and Ti-11

This is not the first time Yang Yang product having dispute with yonex. I think it all started back to the Yonex muscle power series with YangYang MaxPower series.

wonder why Yonex only targeting YangYang brand and not other imitative brand like apacs etc.

maybe because yonex is commenly referred to as YY (iirc)
and Yang Yang could be referred to as YY...

    guesswork..

No products apart from Yonex can be bought at the All England. After all, it is the Yonex All England:rolleyes:

Were they? I tried to buy some Forza stuff, but the representative said that they weren't allowed to sell products, only to display them. It was the same for Wilson and Ashaway, too.

    err, I dunno then.
I was only there on day 1.
I thought I saw non-Yonex stuff being sold.
    I could be wrong.

you're right, some mates of mine from my badminton club bought loads of carlton stuff last year. so it's definitely not just yonex stuff being sold. though i can't say what'll happen this year ...

hehe - often what you see is stores giving stuff away to county players...

but i'm pretty certain last year that central sports was the official retailer at the All England last year..

but retailers can be conned - i mean - it's not like it's strictly policed, and if it's only quick cash in hand exchanges and the gds are bagged up with tourists / visitors other gear (pehaps a yonex shirt for autographs etc...) the 'purchases' are easily hidden..

hope they have the vinyl printer there like they did last year - need to get my name on the back of my fave shirt :)

    branding.

Competition encourage/fosters innovations. Anyway, If yonex is the one who sponsor the event, then they'll have the say. I think other tournaments are not only on Yonex.

yeah... last year the ashaway man said: 'i'm not allowed to sell you anything but if you hide it then...' So its possible to buy from other brands but not officially allowed.

Only Yonex equipment will be sold at the tournament. There are other product stands there though, so far Forza and Wilson have had stands put up. I think Yehlex is also having a stand put up.

The Official Line is this, but as mentioned before a nudge and a wink will work well :)

think it's usually at big tournaments only - like the elite finals and all england and other ibf opens in the UK.. it's usually part of players sponsorship deals..

i mean - you'd want to see your newest kit on show on the players at the all england wouldn't you?
