    Why do people call the Habs the Habs? Doesn't seem like a nickname for Canadiens :confused:

    Also the police are already shutting down the red mile!!! :mad: :eek: :crying:

    Let's see if the Sens will choke or not. They are playing the defending Stanley Cup champions in the first round afterall. It would be great for a Canadian team to win this season.

    It's kinda hard to express yourself as a Sens fan when you're enclosed by more Maple Leafs supporters on campus eh?

    I have really no idea why the Habs are named that way.
    Perhaps the following drawn from the Wikipedia might provide a little insight:

    The franchise is officially known as Le club de hockey Canadien, but is usually referred to in English Canada as the "Montreal Canadiens". French nicknames for the team include Le Bleu-Blanc-et-Rouge, Le Tricolore, Les Glorieux, and Les Habitants. The team jersey is referred to as La Sainte-Flanelle. In English, the main nicknames are the Habs and (usually historically) The Flying Frenchmen.

    www.flamesgirls.com (not safe for work!). The red mile is the basis for that website. Basically the Red Mile is where up to 50 000 people in Calgary goto celebrate a Flames victory during playoffs. Its basically a 2km long gridlock of traffic on the 'party strip' 17th Avenue downtown. Its a riot people going crazy... anything goes!

    You Calgarians really know how to celebrate!

    Hope that it'll be another Calgary vs. Montreal final. Then it will decide who takes a 2-1 lead in the head-to-head series. :)

    lol, 'calgary flames' flames out with a score of 4-0 to anahiem duck, what a party pooper. My advice to them is: shift team balance to have more scoring players and less reliance on physical players.

    they just can't score.. they should spend more money on offense...

    they were the 3rd lowest scoring team during the regular season.

    but they still won the division... barely. Calgary needs scoring for sure Kipur in the net is so good they can afford to spend on scoring.
