Looks can decieve. Depending on (body) position one can look shorter than another. My nephew is about 178 cm and looks shorter than his friend who is no more than 175 cm.

Might also be that he wants to come out taller than he is.....:) , counting some "extra" cm in the stats.

I'm about middle of the road in the 6' and above players. I'm 6' 1/2" exactly so that makes me like what 185-184?

Well, you have the entire pro tour beat in that department at least. Believe it or not, the tallest pro player I've seen stats on is a Thai player, Panvisvas Tesana, who was listed as 1.93. Some of the Danes looked taller because Panvisvas was built like a truck.

I thought Kenneth would be taller though...He made such a good impression when he stopped by the dutch open 3-5 years back...but maybe it was because I was 1.50 at that time:p

Joppien is quite tall as well...

you're no shorty as well, as far as i can deduce....

but I'm indeed tall, but i'm grown-out and getting used to it...somethings are very conventient (reach, namely..) and also great angles on a good smash/drop (peopel gave me puzzled looks at my new club. since my smash isn't too hard it ends up as a really-fast-tight-dorpshot...

downside is my backhand/round the head. Thoguh I'm training on that,a nd my back's quite flexible...though it has it's limits, like I discovered last week...

    OUchy!

Yeah backhands can be tricky. With good technique backhands take little effort and energy to execute with power. My coaches say that i have a bad habit of going to my backhand too often instead of performing a round the head because of the strenth in my backhand.......it is not weak at all.

Backhands to me are more about good timing and not about putting alot of energy into.

I hope your back comes good. I do alot of 'core exercise' for my back.................i highly reccommend tall guys like yourself to do some.
Long backs need strong muscles to support it. There is numorous sites that are on core muscle building using a 'Swiss Ball' and resistance band(big elastic tube with handles) My back feels like 'new' since i started doing these exercises..............I recomend them to you.

yes I do strectch and strengthen my back. as much as i can (/as often as I remember to do it:p )
I more of a round-the-heda player. wich can lead to tricky shots...weirdest ones yet are a round-the-head smash-return :)D ) and a multiple drive-returns around the head. I think I can reach knee-height with my rackethead. and, as always, soemtimes you go a step too far.

But I recovered fully after a week, and In that week I could still play. but didn'd do the freaky shots..

lol......yes leaving out those freaky shots until u recover is a good idea:)

Round the head must be your all time favourite shot! You seem like you have many variations of that shot.

well mostly my training...started baddy when I was 8. my dad/coach learned me the aorund the head at 11/12 years old with the message "you don't need a backhand"...at 15 I started practising my backhand more...so I just don't how how else to do it. around-the-head is a reflex...

but ti certainly is fun to see the faces when I pull a stunt like that..recovered fully now btw...:D

Bao Chunlai is around 1.90m, possibly taller because he is still growing.
Chen Hong is at most 1.80m, he slightly taller than LinDan
Peter gade is around 1.79-80m, LYB said that this was how tall gade was. I have friends who met him and said that that sounds about right.

I think lolalan is just trying to say that Bao's young and .. well .. since guys take longer to mature and grow, maybe he could still be growing. He'll be freakishly tall if he continues though :p.
