My grand uncle of 80+ years plays so I figured I'd give it a try. He ran me to death for about an hour the first time I played. I figured any game where an 80+ years old man can run me like that has got to be good.
Im a baller. I play bball too But in gr.6 my friend told me to join the badminton team which i did, and at the district tourney we got owned..but I kept trying and playing and practicing one day a week for a whole year and I got alot better..so now I play pretty competitively
Love the feel when I am holding the racquet and swing it as fast as I can... Love the feel of running like crazy to save one shot... Love the girl the first moment saw here play in the club.. she was the biggest influence to me for trying to play better hoping to get somewhere near her level.. But now I really want to train hard and compete~~
My Dad got me into it when I was too young to know any better. Now it's too late to get good at anything else!
I played many other sports at one time or another: -Baseball -Softball -Basketball -American Football -Soccer (Football) -Team Handball -Volleyball -Tennis -Track & Field -Swimming -Ping Pong
It was an easy, slow sport, and a fun one. Then one day I played with one of my friends. She was about as good as I at the time. So we lob the shuttle back and forth. Then one of the players there stops as he walks by and says something like "No, no... You gotta use your wrist: like this" and demonstrates a basic clear. I try it out, I hear a loud, satisfying noise, and the shuttle flies. Haven't stopped since that day.
no one can resist badminton the moment u make your first perfect base to base clear, there is no turning back
For me, I was first introduced to it by my friends. I remember playing first time at a real court in Malaysia, I was thrashed 15-0. Then when I came to Canada, i took up badminton in high school. When I went home, my dad booked the courts twice a week as family fun game with me, my dad, mom, and sis. Then it expanded to include my friends whom I thrashed this time Then when I went back to school in Canada, I played competitive high school leagues...and the rest is history. bchaiyow
