I agree with the previous post. Not because his fans, like those of every player's, arrogantly think so, but because he has one tournament less than LCW.

That's because the HK open draw was made before the new world rankings list.

    What's with Chong Wei hatred?

I have seen him on TV a few times only. And I don't know much about him.

Can somebody tell me why he's not likable? Many people seem to hate him. Is he not friendly? Not nice to fans? Not nice off-court? Hot-tempered?

He congrats his opponent and always showed respect to them no matter win or lose. He displays best sportsmanship no matter win or lose, go dl some of his matches and watch for yrself ;)

    Really truth No.1?

Why u do not consider the victory of Lin Dan against Lee Chong Wei in these recent matches? Lee Chong Wei become no 1 since he is hard to play...(not better than Lin Dan)

These rankings cannot really consider who is the world number 1,want to know who is the world number 1 ? Wait for the oncoming WC, we'll get the answer :D

In actual fact, LCW is ranked as World No.1 due to his performance based on ten best tournaments total points for the past 12 months whereby Lin Dan is only based on 9 best tournaments for the past 12 months due to LD participation in international circuits is not as many as LCW.
It does not mean that LCW plays better than LD, even if LCW beat LD in WC final and emerge as world champion, LCW world ranking could drop to World No.2 because by then, LD points would include the WC and he should have more points than LCW.:D

based on ur theory, Taufik should be World No. 1. neither LCW nor LD qualified to be no. 1.

Taufik can just use his WC or OG as ranking point and stop playing for the rest of the tournaments. furthermore LD is a clear loser to taufik based on Head-to-Head record.

if you read on the real drive for ranking points, you will know that the real objective for the implementation is to ensure that players play more tournaments (which LCW has done it) to ensure the competitiveness of the game. if a player do not have enough ranking point, he will not be allowed to play in certain big events like OG and WC (remember last OG? Sigit and Candra were not allowed to participate due to poor ranking after the suspension of Sigit). so let's not misunderstand the ranking system.
