I've been editing the Wikipedia badminton article, to the extent that most of the article is now purely my writing. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Badminton (Wikipedia is an online encyclopedia that anyone may edit.) I'd be interested in your thoughts about the article; you may of course join in the editing! What do you like/dislike? Anything you think should be added? It would be particularly helpful if anyone here could offer some high quality badminton photographs or illustrations for the article. We could use illustrations for the singles/doubles courts and service courts, and perhaps illustrations to accompany the strokes and show their trajectories. There are many excellent photographs on BC, but I would need permission to use them as the copyrights belong to their creators.
Excellent piece of writing - really (accurately) enlightens the masses. However, your grip guide is absent. Was that deliberate; as it is considered too technical?
I still want to rewrite several sections that I have not yet touched. BC definitely belongs on the links, so I'll advocate that. I might choose my timing carefully, or at least discuss it a bit. Badders.com is already there (strange, as BC is clearly the stronger/more popular site). Wikipedia has a policy that editors should not promote themselves or their work (neutral point of view), so I'd prefer to persuade some other editors of the merit of my grips guide. I think I might wait until the new version, because it will be hard to argue with In the current version, there are some elements that deserve criticism.

so THATS whos been editing it for the past while! i looked on the article 2-3 weeks ago and just last week and now. It is completely changed from that skimpy article 3 weeks ago. Kudos and i definetely think you should add your grip review. I also think yonex deserves a bit more mention as it almost owns the sport (almost), besides having it's own article. great job!!!
Good article. The only suggestions I have are: There is inconsistency in the spelling of "racquet". Sometimes "racket" is used. I know they are both commonly used (the latter by illiterates ;-), of course) but consistency is always a good idea. There is no mention of the new service laws either as part of the 2006 changes or in the service law description. The picture of Peter Gade, or perhaps just its caption, is a bit dated - he is no longer Olympic champion.
Can you provide me with a source reference for this? Good suggestions. I've been meaning to standardise on "racket" for a while as the more commonly used (even OED actually lists "racket" as the primary spelling, and "racquet" as the variation). I've only edited a small amount of the Laws section so far; the new service law will go in.

Poul Erik Hoyer Larsen, Kenneth Jonassen, Peter Rasmussen, etc... ) Maybe is also good to put the longest & the shortest Match in Single's , Double's & Mixed
Strangely, the BC link has been added twice to the article yet on both occasions it has been aggressively removed by other editors. Yet the Badders.com link remains. I wonder if we have a bit of community gang rivalry affecting the Wiki?
Must say im impressed. Ive went there once before to find only bits of information, came back a while later to find it updated excellently, nice to know it was you . My suggestion: Perhaps more detailed info about individual players ? Everyone loves to know the people who play the game jsut as much as the game itself. (I.e, Michael Schumacher to racing, Zidane to football,etc). Edit: And nice pics too . E.g - A shot of a speeding smash would surely capture one's imagination and show people that its a sport to reckon with.
