Super Series which will be offering minimum prize money of US$200,000 will begin in January 2007. Malaysia Open will be the 1st tournament to hold the Super Series. The Grand Prix series which will be held 12 times thruout the year in different countries most likely will last for at least 3 years. With the new structure of the Grand Prix, it will definately attract more viewers and also Top Ranked players to join in. After Malaysia Open, next stop will be Korea Open. Among the other Opens is All England, Swiss Open, Singapore Open, Indonesia Open, China Masters, Japan Open, Denmark Open, French Open, China Open and Hong Kong Open. The venue for the last tournament in December will be decided later on.
Mark your calendar guys. This time Malaysia Open 07 will be in Stadium Putra Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur. It was used as a venue for Gymnastics during the Commonwealth Games before.
Great.. I think the seat in Stadium Putra is much more better compare to the Cheras stadium. i mean more comfortable!
Yeah..and even easier to reach with LRT and highways. This is great! Can't wait for next year's MO! and of course, WC07
Yeah, more convienient for me to walk there from my house as I reckon there will be massive traffic jams as always during football matches or concerts. Especially now that they are building a big flyover near the stadium, potholes are everywhere~! Come on Samy, do something~!
Some tournaments for next year. No Macau Open No Indian/Greece Open From the IBF website, I couldn't find dates for Indonesian, Spore and China Masters. Hi,I'm titaniumsp77 & I think I meet u sometime around 03.09.2006 at KLRC.Glad that u brought badminton.asia 2nd edition along.Any idea where (which state)Msia Open will be held in 2007? Rgrds, titaniumsp77
wow, that's quite a big jump up for the french and swiss opens. weren't they like 2/3 star events before? anyways, it's great that they're doing this, i'm sure it'll help improve badminton's popularity. i still think the money on offer is still too low, i think IBF should be looking for more sponsors.
Don't know anything about the ticket prices. Its still way too early to know. I'm sure someone will post it once the tickets is out.
man i will fly all the way from sarawak to watch this time... hopefully chong wei can it four this time haha
Hooray..In KL this time I'm going..I'm going !!.. And I, going to KL all the way from Kelantan this time cannot miss this chance
2 tournaments in a year at the same venue. Other states' badminton association do not want to organize it? Disappointing though...cuz I was hoping for them to come over to Penang. It has been a few years back since they last held Malaysia Open in Penang.
