    Sat, October 21 – Sun, October 22, 2006
    Funky Doubles and XD, MD, WD in Flights B, C, D with Consolation

    TO REGISTER:
    Please do ONLY ONE of the following,
    1. Sign up at http://www.studentgroups.ucla.edu/UCLABadminton/BruinOpen.htm and mail the fee to the address below.
    2. Mail both the entry form and the fee to the address below.

    EVENTS
    Funky Doubles (“A-male” with “C-male”/“B-female” or lower, “B-male” with “A-female”/“B-male” or lower, two “A-females”, and any lower combinations are acceptable)
    B, C, and D flights in Mixed Doubles, Men’s Doubles, Women’s Doubles

    3x15 system. One must play at the level of the higher ranked player (i.e. C/D team must play in C or higher). There will be consolation rounds for all events. TWO matches are guaranteed per event played.


    SCHEDULE

    Saturday: All matches will be played.
    Sunday: Quarters, Semis, and Finals minimum. Warm-ups start at 9:00 a.m.

    Matches start promptly at 9:30 a.m. on both days. Court warm-ups limited to 5 minutes. 15-minute default rule STRICTLY enforced. Lunch Break 1-2pm both days. If time permits, free open gym hours will be available towards the end of the day(s).

    PRIZES
    $100 -- Funky Doubles Winner
    $50 -- Funky Doubles Runner-up
    The 1st, 2nd, and Consolation winners of each flight will receive trophies or medals.

    FEES
    First event: $15, Second/Third events: $10 each
    $5 late fee if not received by DEADLINE: Monday, October 16. No refunds after Monday, October 16.

    VENUE/DIRECTIONS
    Student Activities Center (SAC) Gym. Campus map and directions are available at http://www.ucla.edu/map/map_central.html or http://www.ucla.edu/map. Daily parking permits ($8) are available at kiosks located at most campus entrances.

    Carpooling is highly encouraged. Parking lot P4 (entrance from Sunset Blvd.) is closest to the gym.

    SHUTTLECOCKS
    Two feather birdies will be provided per match. Please bring your own additional birdies. Birdies may be purchased at the front desk.

    T-SHIRTS
    Play two events or more to get a FREE BO2006 T-shirt.

    RAFFLE
    Conducted throughout Saturday. Each participant receives one FREE raffle ticket per registered event.

    FOOD
    Cold drinks and snacks will be sold on site. Campus restaurants and Westwood Village are also right around the corner. Don't forget, lunch break is from 1-2pm both days.

    ANNOUNCEMENT

    We have now reached our intended capacity. We will continue to take in registrations until Oct 16 in the case that spots become available, but please keep in mind that if you register after Oct 7, 1am PST, we regret we cannot guarantee your entry.

    All draws have been posted on the website. A preliminary schedule of play will be posted ~10-20-06. We look forward to another great year of BO, and the UCLABad Team definitely looks forward to seeing all the new and returning faces.

    It'll be up tonight or tomorrow. The BO2006 staff is catching up on classes and academic work (not to mention sleep) since BO pretty much covered our whole last week and this weekend.

    Results and announcement of the charity amount will be up soon!

    Great job! I am sure ur guys not only organized a high quality tournament, but also established a positive image around the local community. :)

    Wish that one day I can participate this event... :rolleyes:

    It's taking a bit more time this year. I used to webmaster the site but now have passed it on. It seems that Shutterfly isn't quite friendly with keeping photo album links alive, so we have to find an alternative resource to post and I haven't had the chance to speak with the new webmaster on finding a decent site for our images.

    I'll post a notice here once we get it up. We haven't forgotten...in fact, it's one of the top priorities we constantly keep in mind!
