hmmm, looks like the INA squad was a no-show in the Finals.. .and this thread also, not many following..:p:).
As for the matches themselves, I don't know how many sets they went to, but the young INA players, esp. the MD pair of Joko/Hendra, still has some work to do, not up to par yet...

    Ronald Susilo won MS

I'm glad that RS finally win something after a slow recovery to fitness since he ruptured his Achilles tendon last year. Granted this is only a 2* event and no big names particpated, a win is still a win. This would boost his confidence ahead of the Asia Game at Doha.

Although seriously I donot habour any hope that he could get into even Semi Final when the top MS players in China, Indonesia, Malaysia and Korea are eager to land the last major title for the year, I do hope that he could get into the QF and caused some upsets along the way. Anything further than a QF berth at Doha would a real bonus for Singapore badminton.

    She looks nice. :)

Thanks for the pictures. Really appreciated although this is only a low profile tournament.

Is that an AT700 Susilo is using?

Hmm, looks like PBSI still had to count on Hendra/Markis and Lily/Nova to winning titles.

Even in the events with lots of top players didn't play they cannot win a title. Specially in MD,WD and Mix. Where England and Denmark pairs didn't send their best pairs.

I beg to differ! There are many positive results I see in Bitburger.

There are several established doubles pairs in all the three events u mention. I personally didn't expect the INA players to win the titles at Bitburger. It is a positive surprise to have 3 finalists!

MS: Tommy Sugiarto is drawn against Sairul as early as in the second round. I didn't expect he will beat the top seed, which he eventually did! Remember that he had to play 6 sets on Wednesday....and that was why I think he lost to Holvy De Pauw.

WS: A finalist in this event is considered a miracle, esp since Maria Kristin has beaten both Pi Hongyan and Petra Overzier (both considered Europe's top singles) en route to the final. It was expected that Maria is to be beaten by Xu Huaiwen.

MD: Michael Logosz/Robert Mateusiak is one of the better European doubles pair. They have beaten Sigit/Trikus in the Athens Olympics. Hendra A. Gunawan/Joko Riyadi still lacks match experience against the top pair, so, I am not surprised they lost as well. Nevertheless, they had very good victories over Hendri/Hendra and Boe/Fischer-Nielsen over the week.

WD: Before the tournament, I have already half expected Jiang Yanmei/Li Yujia to win the title here. It was already a surprise that Rani Mundiasti/Endang Nur Sugianti can beat the top seed in three hard-fought sets.

XD: Similarly, Devin Lahardi/Yunita Tetty are not expected to win here because it's only their 3rd tournament as a pair. I am satisfied that they can reach the semi-final, beating one of the seeds en-route.
