Agreed. They blasted her face on the coverpage. It just seems wierd. They should maybe use a photo of her doing a jump smash or smth. putting a smiling face is wierd...just wierd.

    haih? What does that mean?
Smiling face? She is barely smiling (pun intended).

The innuendo seems obvious here but it wouldn't be the first sport to show a decontextualized female athlete with bare shoulders. It's happened in tennis, golf, and classical music. It was only a matter of time. The question remains, as always: How do Xie and other women in the sport feel about it? The unabashed salivating posted on several threads in this site are evidence that there is an audience for this kind of marketing in badminton.

i sent an e-mail to the editor (here in the Philippines) and she said they are working for the subscription. for the mean time, if i want the back issues, i have to send Php450 (for the launch and june issues + the freit fee). I have to deposit it to their bank account and fax them the documents. oh well, I think i just have to wait for their subscription otherwise...

    World Badminton Magazine Dec 1998

Some of you may have seen the former IBF's monthly publication "World Badminton" in the past. But when IBF went internet, the hard copy version ceased publication and now we read of BWF's news, competitions, updates, etc from the net.

The other day, I was doing some house cleaning and found an old copy, the Dec 1998 version, of World Badminton which might be of interest to you. The main feature was on the Olympic gold medal Indonesian couple, Susi Susanti and her husband Alan. Enjoy!

    Badminton Asia Dec 2005

And of course, the last publication before the new issue of Badminton Asia last year featured Indonesia's heavily decorated hero, Taufik Hidayat:
