I've been debating over what racket to get myseslf for christmas and I've come to the conclusion that I need something with a bit more power then the woven-8 in singles (not that the w8 doesn't have power, but it just feels like it's lacking something, especially during long rallies with lots of clearing). I liked the feel of the AT700 that my friend had, but I'm hesitant or rather too cheap to buy a yonex. I'm looking towards SOTX, Kason, Kimoni, etc. (one of the "underdog" brands). Any suggestions? So far I've read something about the woven 7 being somewhat similar.

HiQua Armour Pro 700 is similar. Head heavy and good for hard hitting if that's what you want. Actually the AT 700 is probably one of the most cloned rackets in the world of Badminton. Maybe the new AT700 would be similar, lol.

IMO, you can ask your friend to sell you his old AT700. He will be glad to do so and go for the new AT900. ^^

Perhaps a Sotx Woven 9 (if you prefer light rackets) or maybe an RSL X1.

I thought the tread was going to die, but it keep getting revived...So heres the update. I ended up getting a Woven-11 and so far love the racket. It's really giving me a workout though, but all in all I can't find anything to complain about.

Same here, I am having 2 Armotec 700. Recently purchased a WOVEN 11 and have since shelved my ARMOTEC 700 as reserves.

    Thanks.

Dummey, how hard was it to switch from the Woven 8 to the Woven 11, I have a Woven 8 and I also think it doesn't have enough power and want to upgrade to the Woven 11

Err, I ended up selling the woven 11. I just couldn't make the change nor did I really want to after thinking about it.The W11 is very much like a bazooka, it has firepower and thats it.

drop a little lead tape on the head of your woven 8 to add a little bit more weight to the head, i have done this to my NS8000 (not alot of weight) and i got a better feeling racket for me, with a little more power and my defence and the feel did not suffer.

it can also give you an idea of what you may like.
