Travelodge is cheap and near the NIA.

I can't remember the name of the hotel we stayed in last year. Four of us booked double rooms and it cost £25 each per night. The accommodation obviously was very basic and the hotel was around 2 miles from the NIA.

Just google hotel chains Birmingham; you can retrieve a list of hotels in Birmingham from venere: http://en.venere.com/hotels_birmingham/ (uncheck "Show only accommodation with online booking" ).

I should be going to the AE this year time permitting.

hi guys, i've just booked a ticket for Saturday's semi-finals. it's a front row seat in block 9. the clerk said that lower level seats are better than upper level ones, but i am worried that i won't be able to see very far. do you think i should change to an upper level seat??

Well, the lower rows means you get close ups of the players:)! Although your vision would have to be concentrated on one court most of the time, you might not get to see other matches in progress clearly compared to the upper rows. However, I find a lot of people leave after watching their favourite players play, some might even go there just to catch one game and then leave. So you might be able to switch seats later on in the day.

For those of you who would require accommodation check out:
    http://www.smoothhound.co.uk/birmingh.html

Gives you a list of hotels in the birmingham area, although you'd need to check which ones are near the NIA, use google maps or www.multimap.co.uk to find out the distances.

The Brittania hotel in the Birmingham City Centre seems quite reasonable and still within walking distance to the NIA (about 20 to 30 mins). I used to work in birmingham and have walked it before.

    Hope this helps!
