i had an opportunity to try both of them at the same time, besides the new ti10 feels lighter when i swing it, there isn't much difference between the two i know the new ti10 now uses high modulus graphite rather than ultra high, and head light balance, but whatever i do with the old ti10, i can do the same with the new one, anyone notice that? to give some background, i don't break racket for fun, nor i have the endurance to use stiff rackets(maybe for 10mins, after that i will be dead) that day i was getting sick soon so i guess that might be a factor, maybe a stronger dude here can give a better information?
Somehow i feel that it is the same racket with some cosmetics change..Search the forum there was a lot of dedate around between the old and new ti 10
its not just a cosmetic change...but many members prefer the old ti-10. i like headlight racquets so i prefer the new ti-10.
Hmm..even there is difference in stiffness and balance in the old-colour Ti10 before the manufacturing date of Pre-Nov'2004 and after that. Finding a old colour Ti10 is tough..finding a Pre-Nov'04 manufactured one is even tougher for those who really like the old old Ti10. and i am still hoping to find my 2nd '04 one... Here is our Bluejeff comments which i remembered sometime back : http://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/showthread.php?p=357086#post357086 & post 35 of this page http://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=33269&page=2
That's correct. So, if you want a real Ti-10, you gotta look for the ones that are before Nov, 2004. I categorized Ti-10s in three: 1. Original Ti-10s: before Nov, 2004. 2. Transitional Ti-10s: After Nov, 2004 and before summer 2005. At some point, Yonex changed the BP, and there is no guaranteed date. The racket is still in old color, but BP has dropped down a little. 3. New Ti-10s: After summer 2005. BP is now head light and the racket is in new color.
i must say that i haven't tried no.2, since all my ti-10s are of the so-called no.1 variety. i have tried the new ti-10s though, and it does feel rather different. i didn't check the balance point (not being a very scientific person), but just played a few shots with it and didn't really like it that much. having said that though, it did take me a few weeks to get used to my old ti-10s, so maybe i just need to give it some time to grow on me.
are the ti-10s on puppysports.com original, transitional, or new? http://www.puppysports.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=detail&id=21125&product=772
I only have Ti-10's dated in 2005. As far as I am concerened they are real enough Ti-10's. In any case I use my own BP on these rackets. One thing is for sure on the UHMG Ti-10's, these give brilliant peak smashing performance and stability.
right now, i have an old ti-10 (pre nov 04) and a new ti-10 (headlight)...and i must say that they're both really different. i really like the new headlight version which has both speed and power. i still need to get the timing correct in order to use the old ti-10 since the balance is so different.
dont mind if i ask, but is the original Ti-10 (red) head heavy and the new Ti-10 (yellow) head light, or the other way round?? confused...
yup, the claim is that (in BJ's post): type 1 is the most head heavy. type 2 is in the middle. type 3 is head light. all relative to each other of course.
thx. I will buy and try one to see what the fuss all about I never own a Ti10before because back then i see old Ti10 like a piece of log, not an easy to use racket for me back then. Back then i think i was using the iso900sr.
i really like the new ti-10 cuz its easy to use and still packs quite a bit of power. do tell us what you think after .
ok, thanks for that... after reading past posts (a lot of 'em!), i see that the old red Ti-10 is better... too bad here only stocks the new yellow one..
I ve got one question. I really enjoy headlight rackets but which one is more flexible a NS8k or the new Ti-10 ? Also how would you rate the stiffness of the Ti-10 standalone ?
The stiffness of the class Ti-10 classic would be in no way same as the new "Ti-10". The feel of the classic is unique in the Yonex range, and can only described as rock steady stable.
