I think we have the future of not only indonesian badminton...but badminton as a whole!! Or at least we can dream. Anyone wanna place bets on weather or not Simon will do better than Taufik in his career?:p

Simon does not have Taufik's power, which means even with perfect skill, he still needs to do extra work to get every point. I doubt he will ever reach the level of Taufik at his peak.

this is just so shallow minded opinion!!:mad:afraid of losing?? the best way is then not to compete at all...after all.. from LD's history.. if any1 of you out there could ever recall any incident that LD purposely walk out from the match that he's taking part!!! :p

I don't think LD faked his injury. There are many many times he lost the first game but came back in 2nd and 3rd.

That said, I do suspect some relation between his sudden injury and Simon's great comeback in the 1st game. Maybe LD was so frustrated and lost his cool -- when you lost your cool, it is easier for you to get injured.

well.. in my opinion too... there's no need for him to fake any injury..even if he did not make it to the final in SO, it will not have affected his rank or his confidence....after all he won the AE... much bigger event than this.. I just don't like ppl framing LD for no good base..and irrelevant! :p:p

I think this game will boost Simon's confidence much. Although LD walked over, he did beat LD in the 1st game.

LD played 2007 MO, KO, GO, AE and SO already. He won titles at KO, GO and AE, LD really don't need to prove to anyone who's #1 or needed the ranking points. China/LD is supporting badminton by playing the GO sand SO, unlike TH who only play 'BIG' tournaments. Walking out due to injury is not the same as walking out on a trivial line dispute like TH in HKO. LD is taking a big risk playing so much tournaments because his #1 objective now is 08 OG. I'm sure he would trade all his 2007 winnings for the gold medal at the 08 OG.

Most people in this forum are come from Malyasia or Indonisia, it's understandable that some of these fans will bash LD for any mistakes he made. If he was a Maylasian, he will always a hero for them.

I am surprised. Did you read LYB's article about why LD and others will have to attend as many tournaments as possible?

I think it's partly the backfire of many ppl bashing Taufik after HKO and JPO...

i'm sure LD was partly injured in the first set already, that's why SS can capture 5-0 on the 2nd set. Even the greats of PG, TH, LCW, CJ, KJ, etc have not ever stretched LD this far beyond the 21 point. So SS winning first set is still due to LD injury. This is not to say SS is not good, he is getting better everytime i see him play. With TH tactic seem to be effective against LD, it's no brainer that pbsi would employ this training to all their new coming MS players.
