Since Fu/Cai lost twice Koo/Tan, LYB should start thinking of alternatives, send in Lin Dan/Bao Chunlai to play Doubles and win the next SS.:D

Maybe send in Chen Hong/Chen Yu as backup.....:D :D :D

Good reason for Chen Hong to come out of retirement.

Fu/Cai should stay home and spend some time in the training camp...:D

If I am not wrong, TG will be regarded as a USA player.

The eligibility rules are something like (numbers not exact, just using them for example):
4 players/pairs if they are all in the top 8
3 players/pairs if they are all in the top 20
2 players/pairs if they are all in the top 100

Assuming TG/CW are in the top 8, and Ina has 3 other pairs in the top 20, then Ina can choose the 3 fully-fledged Indon pairs, or 2 of them plus TG/CW using up 2.5 spots but that means sacrificing one fully-fledged Indon pair.

Not only must Ina badminton federation be in agreement, but the Usa fed as well. If Usa has 2 other pairs in the top 100, similarly they must drop one of them if they want TG to represent them.

I will fully support any effort to take out or at least restrict the "country limitation" rule.

    1. It is an individual tournament, and the best individuals regardless of nationality should be given the offer to enter. Best example, Chinese players are penalised.
    2. Freelance players are becoming more common now. Giving the national badminton authority the absolute power to pick or drop any player is bound to be unfair to those who compete outside the federation. Example: Djarum, KLRC players
    3. Pairs are increasingly being formed cross-border, especially in Europe. These pairs are disadvantaged in the current selection process. Example, TG/CW, Shirley/Quay

    My proposal:
    For each event:
    1. The top player/pair from each continent (Asia, Europe, Oceania, Africa and Americas) will be represented.
    2. Host country has one wild card, which may or may not be exercised.
    3. BWF has one wild card, which may or may not be exercised.
    4. Going down the ranking list, each player/pair will be offered participation until the draw is fulfilled.
4b. Obviously, if doubles player A has already confirmed entry, then player A cannot participate with another partner.

Simple. If BWF wants wider participation, then the rules can be tweaked as such:
    4. Going down the ranking list, each player/pair will be offered participation until 50* players/pairs have confirmed entry. (* arbitrary number)
    5. To top up the number to 64, continuing from the ranking table, only players/pairs which come from countries which have yet to have any entry, will be offered a place. If the draw is still not fulfilled, go back to step 4 and fulfill the draw.

you know what, since you mentioned LD/BCL, i've been wondering when i last saw a pair of doubles players who are both left-handed anywhere near the top of the rankings.

Jens Eriksen en Martin Lungaard Hansen always have a shot, don't they? They're always wiped aside here on BC:confused: :)p)

though, with their recent performance, KTT/TBH have a good chance...very good...

hey brother, agree with u man.. Luluk is the weakness.. Alvent is very consistent and he keeps encouraging Luluk on court.. Luluk keeps making mistakes. :)

If KKK/TBH is consistently improving, they may emerge winners. I guess, a final game of KKK/TBH v CY/ FHF or TG/CW would be nice to watch. Furthemore, CY/FHF v TG/CW would be equally exciting. Lets not forget other Malaysian pairs, wish to see them prove themselves as well!

Really hope that Tony/Candra will be able to participate, even without PBSI and US badminton association's agreement ....

I agree Alvent should separate from Luluk, but better if Alvent pairs with someone else and leave Kido/Setiawan alone. This young pair still has scope for improvement. Any changes now is too late for WC, but probably be better for Olympics.
