I had a chance to see the 2007 Yonex price sheet last night. The AT800s are officially off the price sheet.
R.I.P. AT800... Though I did not know you well... I only bought you, because of your outer colour, and have only known you less than 1 week... you shall sit and look pretty in my racquet bag, until I decide to do something with you. Until then, your younger brother (at700), will be my whipping child, until I get back into playing form. Then its off to boarding schoo... oh wait You mean, this isn't dramatic acting 101?
i wonder...does this diminish the value of the AT800s in circulation already...or does it raise the value? or neither??? (I hope it raises )
So I should now treat my AT800's with moooooooore reeeeespeeeeeeeeect!!!! No more partnership with inexperienced players whose primary task seems to be hitting my AT800 with their own rackets.
Maybe you can hit with it harder. If you break the shaft you might get a replacement AT900 since AT800 is out of production. Good luck
Actually, I'd like the AT 800s to diminish in value first, then raise in value. That way, I can buy some, and then keep them for myself, since I'm actually quite fond of my AT800 OF.
Yes.. but it is different... Why not skip AT500,AT300,AT250 etc as well.. they are also "worse" than AT900 I don't see any reason to stop producing AT800, if there is still a demand for it (maybe just smaller series).. Yonex still produces plenty of rackets inferor to the AT800DE and OF, so I don't see why they should be dropped just becuase there is an AT900 model introduced.. I am pretty sure there will be some players who prefer AT800OF over 900P or AT800DE over AT900T, just as there are people prefering CAB30 over NS9000 /T
You can still get At800s. Just that its while stocks last in your local or international distributor.
Sure there's a reason... Yonex wants you to use their latest products. Even though Yonex has a huge slice of the badminton market, it befits the company to always come out with leading edge technology (in whatever shape or form) over other competing brands. New products brings in more revenue than older ones.
The law says it'll have to be replaced with something of equal CURRENT market value, so I hope your AT800 was expensive (mine wasn't)! You'd almost certainly get the price of an AT700 for it...
