It's very similar to armortec 700, seen it strung at 28 lbs.

you are right! i'm loving it.

Thunderbolt 3 is head light. max tension is at least 32 lbs, far beyond most ppl's optimal tension.

i don't have the racket with me now but i remember it's head light. I'm using 3u. 4u will be too light for me. really a very good all-around racket. i'm going to get one more.

I have a few question regarding the proace thunderbolt.

    1) How much a thunderbolt II weight?(without string)
    2) What is the cost of it?
    3) How much a thunderbolt III weight?(without string)
    4) What is the cost of it?
    5) Which one is good for double? (thunderbolt II OR thunderbolt III)

    Thank you.

I have TB 3. It s printed on shaft as ultra light weight (3U/85-89g)/head heavy balance/high modulus graphite. Power system iso head frame. String max up to 32 lbs. Pro Ace is official sponsor to Malaca Badminton Academy. But the grey color scheme is too simple like a low end one....huh! I think the shaft is quite stiff... I try to use it but finally i find it s not suit my play....very sad!

I only have thunderbolt III so I only answer that part of your question.

weight: I am using a 3u. there is 4u version available.
cost: S$160 here in singapore, with string of your choice.
thunderbolt III is VERY good for doubles.

I would like to ask a few questions. I am currently planning to buy Proace Thunderbolt 2. However, I think this racquet has been around for 4 or more years.
    1. Is it still considered a good racquet nowadays?
    2. The price is RM 168 inclusive of a small bag, a grip and string ( not yonex string though)
    3. Are there any racquets that I should consider? (head heavy and price is less than RM 200)

oh dear, i have a thunderbolt 3 too, but on the shaft no such words are printed on, it just says "precaution!! avoid direct sunlight or left in car boot to prevent damage" and nothin else... mine is a 3U-G2 stated just above my handle. Proace UK Reg No: 1353283 did i get a fake? oh dear!

    I think the 'Proace UK Reg No: 1353283' is etched on the cone. Just slightly above it (on the lower-end of the shaft), there should be a 'hologram-like' piece (black top, 'foil' bottom) bearing;
    (i) the word "PROACE" (silver font on black), and
(ii) a QC no. (below the word, "PROACE").
Please check your racket for this...;)

As far as I know, all PROACE Thunderbolt III have this.
I have yet to come across fake PROACE rackets (at least not in these parts)...;):)

thanks man, it has reassured me indeed! the hologram piece is somewhat a sticker right? why is it that wakloo has so many details printed on its shaft?
    mine is like so plain..

    (1) Yup, it's more of a 'sticker'. ;)
In retrospect, 'hologram' wasn't an apt descriptor...apologies.

    (2) Was it possible that you missed some of the fine-print on the shaft (the "ultra head light weight/..." stuff is usually in very small font)... just ruling out possibilities...
The "...Malaccan Badminton Association" thing is NOT printed on shaft (it's on the cardboard piece you sometimes find on new frames prior to their being strung);):)

    (3) In spite of all these 'details' that you may or may not have 'missed', the Thunderbolt III is a 'plain-looking' frame (which is a good thing, IMHO);):)

    Hope this helps...:)

thanks again, but the only printed words are "power system" at the head. my shaft is as plain as only with the "sunlight-carboot" precaution. one thing i noticed, my Proace thunderbolt 3 is longer than my yonex racquets.. is it some sort of a handicap for noob players (or is it allowable in the official badminton law?). and just for confirmation :

i had mine weighed (with strings) and turned out to be about 93g...does the strings weigh that much?

    (1) I'm not entirely sure wrt the exact text on the shaft of the Thunderbolt III. Yours has the words, "THUNDERBOLT III" & "...sunlight...carboot", yes? I'll check it out and get back to you (maybe by this weekend)... Is it possible for you to post pics of your Thunderbolt III (they speak a thousand words)?;)

    (2) The Thunderbolt III is 675mm (or 26-and-a-half inches) long (give or take a couple of mm. It really depends on which Yonex rackets you're measuring them up against.;) Racket-length typically falls within the range of 664mm ('Reg') & 675mm ('Long'), which is 'legal'. The 'Long' rackets are not a handicap to players at any level, they just take getting used to (IMHO). Conversely, the same can be said about 'Reg' rackets.:)

    (3) 3U rackets weigh anything between 85g & 89g. So, if (hypothetically) your Thunderbolt III weighs 89g... It is plausible that your strings weigh 4g.;):)

    Hope this helps...:):)

    thanks man!

    1. yeah my shaft is exclusively only "thunderbolt III & the sunlight-carboot" words.

    2. haha somehow i feel "long" rackets hardcore packs a punch. very powerful indeed, its the physics i must say!

    3. how heavy is a 4U racket, as in the range?

thanks again punchclear. very nice of you indeed!

i think its a really good racket as i promote thunderbolt rackets to my customer.about the tension.it should rely on the stringer.maybe if u interested,i can do it for u.coz as i use pro ace rackets for more than 10 years.
