No, you missed my point. My point was that under normal circumstances, Chinese players could exploit their home ground advantage (including entering a huge number of players) to strengthen their world rankings. This thing did happen in the last 2 years (especially in China Masters), China Masters (inaugurated in 2005) - In 2005, China swept all 5 titles. - In 2006, China swept all but MD titles. - The only international title that Guo/Xie, a 2nd-rated MD pair in the international level, has won to date is China Master'05. China Open - All-China finals in MS, WS & WD in 2004, 2005 & 2006 (WS and WD's dominations are understandable, but the MS result is quite an achievement because PG and even LCW used to rank higer than BCL, CJ, CY and even CH before 2006, plus the dangerous TH and the spoilers KJ and Korean players) - In 2006, China swept all but MD titles (CY/FHF was the runner-up) herefore, I'm kind of happy to see that the R1 results has indicated that China is potentially losing such an advantage (but who knows they will still be the nation who has the last laugh on the finals day).
... and I just read a article on New Straits Times website, and they have pressumed its gonna be TH vs LCW, and LCW vs LD; Not the most unbiased source, then again maybe its time to reconsider PG position in the top tier..
Match going to start anytime. All 4 courts are getting ready. The atmosphere is so tense. Matcy of the day...
Stick to your guns, man. If you're a PG fan, go full bore! Good luck. I will be supporting TH though (PAW pick hehe)
Almost all upsets at 1st round yesterday suffered by CHN squad particularly MS divisions when three Chens were ousted. If BCL and Lu Yi are also lost today, it means LD is the only one CHN representative at quarterfinal tomorrow, high pressure for this local fave to present MS title. INA still has chance in 2nd round today : MS -- TH, Simon and Sony have hard tests. Not sure whether the three will prevail... WS -- Maria Kristin will be stopped by Pi in this round MD -- Kido/Setiawan plus Joko/Hendra have good opportunities to play in QF WD -- Ouch, Rani/Endang and Vita/Lilyana will struggling against seeded-pairs XD -- Can Flandy/Vita making surprise to tame 2nd seed host pair Xie/Zhang? I wish! Super Series with live-scoring facility always bring excitement for us, no wonder this thread will be very busy soon...
