Hi All, During the week, a friend of mine unfortunately damaged his racket only ever so slightly. He was going for a full on smash, but because the racket was so flexible it wasn't able to keep up with the swing and thats when it happened. I must also he had a fake ns9000x (I thought the X stood for extra stiff more like extra flexible ). I've never seen a racket fall apart so badly which is why i opened this thread. If you have had any sort of racket damage do share your images with us so we can all pray it never happens again.
It happened so fast, but from what I saw. He went to do a smash and as he swung thats when part of the racket must have broke loose. And I'm guessing the head must have broke from the shaft once it hit the floor as there was a big hole on the top part of the head. I'm guessing this must be due to the shaft being extremely flimsy even compared to an old racket of mine.
One word , WoW. I have never seen that kind of break before really amazing. Another friend of mine broke his Nanopseed 9000 by smashing den the frame flew to the other side of the court. But this is way cooler.
Which is why I created this thread, think of the shock I had when it happened. I never knew such a thing could happen to a racket.
I actually did this, not the handle part, but the head with a nanospeed 9000. i got pushed in my backhand corner and did a cross court clear but the head flew off the racket and into the wall to the side of me. i got it replaced by yonex soon after but telling my coach what happened, whos racket it was, was awkward but very funny.
Woven 7i - broken :crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying: clash with partner's head....!!!
I was at the France Open in the Yonex Store. The seller had some AT250 and he showed it to me. I was gripping the handle and the T joint when the shaft broke ! The guy asked me what I did, and everybody around saw how I gripped the racket, and all were saying I didn't do anything wrong or suspicious. Verdict: material defaulted. Moral of the story: always check if the racket is sturdy and test the shaft flexibility before buying.
D...A...M...N..must have an extra shitty fake.Did any parts of it flew n hit someone else?Break after a big smash..3 parts.Wow..
it is fake. all yonex racket has a aluminum reinforcment at the t-joint. it will never break cleanly like that. so this has to be a fake racket. and when it comes to fake racket, they can break anywhere. (thread moved to Equipment forum)
Fortunately it didn't hit anybody because they would have got one hell of a headache at the spped that thing went but the head did fly to the middle of The next court and they all look a little confused . We all stood there in shock for a fews seconds before we realised where all the bits went. The funny is that same friend order another racket and when it came it was in 2 pieces, I guess he doesnt have the best of luck with rackets.
I'm not suprised it broke like that~ look at where teh shaf meets the head~ there's supposed to be a metal t-joint prevent this type of thing from happening. Also, my friends have also broke the wood on the handle of fakes before. It all comes down to quality~ Get a real one or a good non yonex one~
wow i thought woven's dont break...and now we know which material to use for the next gen. rackets, human CRANIUM!
It is a genuine fake because of the poor quality paint job, serial number is printer on, shaft is very bendy, colour quality of the racket is different. I'm not sure what my friend has done with the racket most likely binned it as he hardly used it and when he did thats what happens.
Holy Crap!! What a garbage fake to break so easily like that. On a side note, your partners head must be pretty painfull now after getting hit in the head.
