    Total land surface (sq. m.): 22,269

    Seats: 7,500

    Functions during the Games: Badminton and Rhythmic Gymnastics

    Post-Games use: The Gym will provide spaces for activities of students and faculty, whilst facilitating the training of the badminton teams affiliated with the International Badminton Federation and the General Administration of Sports. The gymnasium will ocassionally be open to the public.

    Groundbreaking date: June 30, 2005

    Thanks for the pics..

    ..thx for sharing the infos & pics with us, seawell..I heard most of the venues for the upcoming 2008 are built from scratch. Well, at least for this particular venue, which looks quite nice, it won't be "abandoned" & at least the gym will be somewhat useful after the big event next yr. Unlike in previous Olympic yrs, most notably in Athens. Who knows what type of activities or usage are they doing with the venues(ie. badminton etc.)..:confused: :rolleyes: :p

    Yeah but it's one heck of a good stadium!!! I wish for the 2010 vancouver olympics they'll build a stadium JUST for badminton and other sports so we can use it too:D btw thanks for the pictures.

    Unfortunately, 2010 is Winter... so no badminton, unless you want to badminskate!
