I wounder what happened to all those retired professional badminton players?

What are these professional players upto?

    1. Alan Budi Kusuma
    2. Susi Susanti
    3. Ye Zhao Yi
    4. Ardy Wiranata
    5. Joko Supriyanto (He is my favourite. He could easily beat alan by always loses to ardy wiranata)
    6. Heryanto Arbi
    7. Ricky & Rexy
    8. Rashid Sidek (the popular one of sidek brothers)

and any other retired badminton pros? What happened to them? What are they upto these days? I mentioned the above because during the early to mid 90s they dominated badminton like anything. China was beaten left, right and centre by the indonesians during those era. Also you could guarantee there is always all indonesian finals.

Anybody know what are they doing now?

Rexy is in the news about every other week in his capacity as Malaysian doubles coach. Do a BC search or even Google for that one.

Ardy Wiranata coaches at the Glencoe Club in Calgary. Also many mentions of him on BC. There's an old 2001 news item here.

Joko Supriyanto coached for Indonesia, until last year. Again, a search might reveal something, like this posted news article, translated by a BC member.

no 8. Rashid Sidek is chief coach of Malaysia's back-up squad, Project 2010-2012. Actually to Malaysians, his older brothers Razif, Jailani & Misbun are more well known.

Jailani Sidek is running a private badminton club, Nusa Mahsuri
and of course, Misbun is MS coach, he's Lee Chong Wei, Hafiz Hashim, Roslin Hashim, Kuan Beng Hong's coach. Also coaches a few junior players.

Do a search for Alan Budi & Susi Susanti. They're bound to come up.

Thanks for the info. I did do a search for Alan and Susi nothing came up. It looks like they just disappeared. The last I heared few years ago was they were going to open a beauty salon/Massage centre. lol. That's about it.

I'm curious what happened to them.

I was aware Ardy was in North America but I'm not sure what is the latest story about him. Joko is unwinding I think. Not sure what are his plans. I have been googling for a while now but not much info about those players.

I meant search this forum. There's a "Search" button on top.
Look thru the posts, you'll find lots of info

I remember cos the Indonesian fans were discussing about Susi & her husband Alan Budi recently. They have their own company. Susi S has agreed to coach the Uber 2008 team.

Susi and Alan has also their sport business, ASTEC ( Alan Susi Technology).
Also Susi and Elizabeth Latief opened several branches for their sport massages under " FONTANA".
Alan also serves as one of PBSI official under "business" section.
