    I don't see Chen Hong competing lately.
    Has he been sidelined? Is he now just a sparring partner for the Chinese singles players? What a shame!

    :confused::confused::confused::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:;););)

    Um, that isn't a very fair assessment of why he quit ;)
    You might want to search for details.

    miss him alot.....the former 2 times AE winner, former WC. miss his style of play. I feel so sad for many young chinese players, when their age reach 26/27 while they are still on top of their careers, many of them forced to quit the national team due to the newcomers. Like Chen Hong, without the proper training from the national team, he drops from no.2 to now no.14. Very sad to see, another one i miss him alot is XXZ.

    ya too true =(...he still very good and skillful enough to take on/compete with at least world's 3-7 or so...but i guess all he can do is go to the 2nd-3rd tier tournaments that CHN still competes in =\...that will at least bring in a little more glory + cash =\..either that or coach because there isn't more he can do =\...

    China decided not to send him...i don't believe he quit the national team, but more that he's not chosen in favour or younger players like Lu Yi and Wie Jie Gong =\...but i do hope he gets chosen for GP events =\

    I'm quite curious about Chen Hong generally. Actually according to an article on Badzine, it seems of all the Chinese players CH has the best record against Lin Dan. Maybe that is in the past now that he's 'old'. Certainly in the 2005 AE CH was pretty impressive, altho in fairness, Lin Dan had had quite a hard route to the finals.

    I wonder how people would characterise Chen Hong's style? I personally quite like him.

    the only thing i know is all the Chen Hong's expense is sponsored by Victor. All the airfare & hotels etc. but i heard that he trains in various places in the world. Some local clubs in indonesia & china, so yea...i think he doesnt have proper training to keep his fitness, though he got tons of experiences and skills, u know. Well, in some chinese article, he said that he enjoys badminton more than ever, so yea..wish him all the best. :)
